A bunch of us are all in the same "boat". Question is whether the scan for "departed Fedex location" in anchorage (should follow "Released for Delivery") shows up before it heads to next destination, or only when it arrives there. Anyone who's already had theirs delivered know the answer?

Let's hope it's on arrival...and we get our iPads tomorrow!

Or to build on that does it say "In Transit" before. Mine says In Transit on the fedex and Held at Sort Facility on Yahoo.

Mine shipped on Monday, but it spent until today in China.

I think these flights are "bulking out", in other words, becoming space restricted. When I was in a previous job like this, but not with FedEx, when you ran out of room, you moved things in priority order. When there wasnt enough room, some of the pallets were simply left behind to wait for the next flight. But if the next flight went in priority order, it could cause a serious back up.

And by priority order, its not necessarily other ipads that were ordered earlier, it is the massive amounts of cargo that get moved back and forth on these planes. Produce and meats, for example, have some of the highest priorities, along with other items that are perishable. These also fetch the highest cargo revenue per pound...another reason they go first. With the stuff going on in Japan, I wouldn't be surprised if there is cargo being circulated through the system to get it in/out of Japan.

Too bad there is not a patience app. :D

"departed anchorage" DOES follow "released for shipment from anchorage"

I wonder if mine is on any flight. Here is the most recent tracking information.

Thank you for this info. I could not for the life of me think why my ipad cover would ship to oakland tonight (on the 17:35 flight) and not my ipad, when they both were sitting in Alaska together a the same time...

Although I would think that packaging them together would save someone some profit. But what do I know?

Does this affect pickups? If so, the first plausible explanation for why I've been sitting at 'prepared to ship' for 90 hours now.

I checked with FedEx since my status update was about 4 hours behind the actual scan, they said they have been having problems with that today. The rep was nice enough to tell me that my package is most def on the ground in Shenshen, but that it should be in the air by tomorrow morning at the latest.

I was really hoping it was an update delay. :(

Mine says "held at sorting facility" on Yahoo, but the Fedex site says "in transit." I think it's en route to Memphis.
