How do you find out where it is rather than just using the tracking number? Is there a chance it is really someplace else and not being tracked correctly?

I ordered the same exact iPad only 3 minutes earlier than you and am at the same exact spot as you. Still sitting on a Friggin Island for 40 hours now!
What is your estimated delivery date? Mine is Wed.

Can anyone who shipped from Memphis to PA give me an idea of how long it took to get in PA? From Memphis does it fly or drive? I know, I'm not getting it today, but I've followed it this far, I'd hate to loose track of it now! :rolleyes:
 
Stuck in AK for over 24hrs

I ordered my black engraved Ipad 2 16 gb 3g+wifi at 1:04 a.m. EST on 3/11/2010. Delivery date per FEDEX was 03/18 by 4:30. My cover came two days after I ordered it.

I had a pretty good idea that I wasn't getting it today when I saw that it was still in AK on the 17th. It's being delivered to Atlanta. Is there anyone else that ordered on the same day with engraving that's having it delivered to GA? Is there a chance that it moves through the weekend and will be delivered Monday? According to Apple, it's estimate is the 21st. It looked as if it was well on its way, until the holdup in AK. :eek:

My first estimated date was Tuesday, they changed it 12 hours later to Wednesday also.

Mine showed the released & arrived at sort Facility pretty quickly after touchdown. Now I have no idea what is next, but since my package is express and not ground, I am hoping to see it move to PA quickly.

Yahoo on the other hand is saying that it is still sitting on the ramp at Sennan-Shi... Delivery according to Fedex.com is still 3/22/11 before 4:30pm which is still possible.

FDX82 is 42 minutes from touching down in Memphis... I just looked on flightaware.com and found that there is 1 more flight from Kansai International to Anchorage leaving at 6pm...

**edit** Though when I check through Apple it still says that I am in HK...
 
How many shipping days did they promise when you guys ordered? When I ordered, it said 3-5 days. I wish I had been a bit faster with my ordering. I took my time since it was opened up earlier than the 1:00 am time they announced.
 
Here in Delaware I've had FedEx deliver on Saturdays because they don't deliver on Mondays. 4 days left for delivery... :(

I ordered my ipad on march 11th at 4:30 am my iPad is suppose to be delivered to me on march 22nd I'm so happy thats I'll soon have my iPad I hope and wish that I would receive my order today if not hopefully on monday :D

I called and provided feedback to Apple about using only a single shipping carrier for a launch this size and they did not offer anything for free. They basically expressed their sympathy but of course pointed out that the order was estimated to deliver between the 18th and 25th when the order was placed. I did not press it because the fact of the matter is that she was correct about the quoted estimate upon placing the order. I don't deserve anything for free, but if they were volunteering free cases to increase "good will", then I would be glad to have my Smart Cover for free.

While I had them on the phone I took the opportunity to point out a few things to them:

1) If actual orders begin on March 11th, then that should not mean 3-5 days for shipping, otherwise it seems to indicate that these are more-or-less 3-5 day pre-orders.

2) They should prioritize orders in the sequence they were received which does not really seem to be the case as many had their iPad 2's shipped and delivered before those who ordered online before them.

3) They should be rushing to fill online orders taken during the "3-5 day shipping" window before restocking their retail stores. Once they increased the delivery time that essentially says "we are out of our online stock allocation" -- I get that, but it seems their "online stock" was allocated but took a back seat to shipping prioritization to their retail store shipments.

Incidentally, I called FedEx and they indicated that Apple chose to use "International Economy" shipping which is their slowest shipping option for international orders (I wonder if they use the same for their retail store shipments). I also don't know if they usually use that or not -- but certainly "International Economy" is much slower when FedEx lacks the capacity to handle that many shipments.

Anyway, it looks like that while everything was suppose to arrive on the 22nd (according to FedEx) that the iPad 2 is the only thing that is still held up in China and now Japan -- everything else I ordered was delivered.

Frustrating, but I must learn patience.

'International Economy', huh? That's pretty lame considering the deal apple promised was supposed to be 'Fast Free Shipping.' So did you ream the CSR about that or was your call to FedEx after that?

BTW, I got a free red leather cover (arrived today), but I'd ordered it originally, so maybe that's the diff. On the other hand it could depend on who your CSR is. Mine was a nice friendly girl... I told her how I'd done everything I possibly could to get one for my wife's b-day (yesterday), including local retail, but was frustrated at every turn. (I ordered at 1:06am and my pad's @ Lantau) We had a nice conversation and I was about to pack it in when she offered to give me a credit on the cover. It was almost like she was waiting to see if I was going to be an ****** before deciding to give me something. Someone in this thread said they got an Apple TV ($99). Score.

Bottom line... I'd try again if I were you. Be nice but firm (and use that FedEx info you just shared here).
