Unfortunately, yes. They are all bulk packed in containers and there is no way to separate them to advance or prioritize any one ipad. I think they are just telling callers that to placate them and get them off the phone. Maybe once it hits Memphis, but even then I highly doubt it as Apple hasn't paid fed ex for any special services on these, its the cheapest international shipping they offer.

My ipad is in Memphis since last night with a TUES scheduled delivery, I really hope it makes it Monday. Anybody have any ideas if that is a possibility?

Check the Fedex website, Fedex home doesn't deliver on Mondays.

Um... Let me count the ways...

Is it perhaps because Apple promised "fast, free delivery?" and instead opted for international economy (the slowest) to save $$?

Just for the record, the Apple Store site has always promised "fast, free delivery". It's plastered all over the place and has been for years. It's not some term they made up to imply they were doing something special for the iPad 2.

To them, anything less than a week qualifies as "fast". My iPad 2 is coming at the exact same speed as everything else I've ever ordered from Apple: crappy Fedex economy international.

So Apple is using Fedex Home when it reaches the USA? This is the first time I heard of a shipping service not in operation on Mondays (but I see where it says so on the Fedex site). I'm in New York City and always see Fedex/Fedex Ground trucks all about. Dunno about Fedex Home.

I think yours and mine are on the same journey as mine left Memphis at the same time and just arrived in Jacksonville. I'm guessing they'll be delivered Monday, one day early.

I hope they deliver early as well. I was with you two up until iPads left Memphis, I'm in Texas. So I'm assuming your service type is IP Direct Distribution and on their website it says service run Monday-Friday & Saturday (depending on location).

Just to point out Fed Ex's site...

Fed Ex International Economy said:
Service Days: Monday–Friday, with Saturday delivery available in countries where Saturday is a regular business day.

I know we went over this before but...

Mar 19, 2011 12:37 PMInt'l shipment releaseANCHORAGE, AK

What does that mean?

I think that's where Customs finally decided the box really does have an iPad in it, instead of being secretly stuffed full of bizarre Asian insects that can wreak havoc with American agriculture, and approved it to enter the country.

One of first few to buy iPad...

I guess I shouldn't complain after reading all of this, but I placed two orders for iPads on the 11th; one at 12:52am PST and one at 12:55am PST. One is sitting in Lantau and the other in Sennan-Shi, JP. One would think that they would ship the iPads in the order which the order was placed, but I guess not. Just a little disappointed in the 2 week shipping time frame given that I got up and was one of the first to place my order. Oh well, guess I've lived 28 years without an iPad, what's another week??:apple:

Okay that's good. So theres a chance I may get it on Monday depending on how things turn out...

Definitely a chance. Mine just left Memphis about an hour ago. En route to where, exactly, I don't know, but I'm hopeful it's coming straight to my town.

These aren't coming Fedex Home. They're coming Fedex international economy, which does deliver on Mondays.

Actually mine is coming International Priority so then I guess I really will have it on Monday. Thanks for the info.

So I talked to the Fed Ex Delivery guy yesterday when he delivered my cover and xtra charger. I asked him about possibly picking it up my Ipad which was on it's way to the Oakland sorting facility last night. He said that the plane shipping container would just sit until Sunday night / monday morning and then get sorted.

I called Fed Ex this am for the heck of it and was told that the sort facility is closed today.

Today at 3:00pm my Ipad left the sort facility..... go figure. Online Fed Ex says this place is open 24-7 for shipment processing.

I'll know in a few hours, but it should be on it's way to my local Fed Ex hub... hopefully...

Sheesh...

how did u get international priority? i called apple and they said that they had put my ipad "rush delivery" for the inconvience, but i dont believe!

I am using Yahoo Small Business Tracker. Here is a screen shot. Still in China. I think we are on a slow boat!....Ummm and I am female. ;)

Mcirish...I think your iPad and my iPad are on the same crate! haha. Female huh? Could it be our iPads are having a romantic rendezvous before heading to the states? (heh heh) ;)

Mine too has been sitting on Lantau Island since midday on the 17th. I guess this is the result of Apple's "fast" shipping being economy instead of priority. However, it might also be that the planes are full of Apple products already and FedEx isn't willing to anger their millions of other customers by flying planes full of iPads just so us fanboys can have them quicker.

Haha! I forget that other Apple products are likely joining our iPads' journey home. Well move over big boys (yeah, I'm talking to you iMac 27s and Mac Pros...our youngins' need all the room they can get in those cramped crates! :D

Don't ask me why but I just went to the Apple Online store and confirmed (what has been said in many places) that if I were to order an iPad now, it would be 4-5 weeks delivery. I also noted that they are now saying "free shipping" not "fast free shipping." As I wait for my iPad2 ordered in the wee hours of 03/11 to perhaps leave Lantau Island tomorrow after 3 days or Monday after 4, I am grateful that my shipping is "fast" free, and if I had waited to order I'd only get "free."

What model did you buy?

I ordered a white whifi 16gb and a white att 16gb and both is not yet shipped

I bought a white wifi 16gb and a white att 16gb on 03/11 at 4:40 and got a 5-7 days to ship. Today I got "prepared for shippment" for both!

Haha!!! Mine is sitting there with yours. At 1 AM I never thought I would still be sitting here waiting for it.
