I guess they just wanted all they could get to the US by the 11th in stores to try to meet line demand. So all online orders are coming straight from the factory in China as they make more.
 
It sounds like they may be working on the 64Gig 3G models now.

After that it will probably be 32G and then 16G.

My Black 16Gig AT&T model is still showing "not shipped." I'm going to go lay down and hope that the status has changed by morning.
 
Tracking the item reveals they are using Fedex International Economy, where fedex's website says

FedEx International Economy®

Time-definite delivery from Canada and Puerto Rico to the U.S. typically in 2 or 3 business days. Time-definite delivery from key Asian markets to the U.S. typically in 3 or 4 business days.

It's sunday in china, so according to that, Wednesday or Thursday is likely.

Actually, yes it is, that is why I said it. It went from "picked up" to "in transit".

March 12 - picked up
March 13 - in transit

Should move to "arrived at fed-ex facility" in a couple of days, then delivered which would seem about right for March 17.
 
iPad 2 shipping

I ordered a 16gb black and 16gb white wifi only model around 5pm on friday. I planned to wait in line to get them at the local best buy, but my manager had to have a smoke break so i couldnt make it. mine are saying early april ship dates. just wondering if anyone thinks that apple is overcompensating like they did with the iphone 4 possibly. is there a chance i might get these within the next 10-12 days? :apple:

Well it's probably on a plane rather than a fed ex truck! :D But yeah, that schedule sounds about right. Mine is scheduled for March 17, but still in the "picked up" status in the tracking.

Well, it shows in transit in the progress bar at the top of the tracking info page, but still has picked up as the latest status update and listed as a shipment exception as missing the fed ex cutoff yesterday. Guess they got it too late to get it on the plane yesterday, so hopefully it will be moving again later tonight/tomorrow.

Ordered iPad 16GB White wifi at 0405 EST on 3/11/2011. Received FedEx tracking number from Apple at 20:00 PM on 3/12/2011. It was shipped from SHENZHEN CHINA on 3/13/2011 at 11:19 PM (that's China date & time). Estimated delivery date is 3/17/2011 by 4:30 PM.

I finally got my email notification for the 16gb black AT&T I ordered at 4:15 am est Friday. Not packed or shipped yet.
