Dude, its 2011, you really think FedEx can't get a package from AK to So Cal in less than a day?!?! If it leaves today as it should it will probably be thru Memphis and in Cal by the time you wake up... getting to states was the hard part... domestic shipping, I trust, FedEx can easily handle

The major fedex sort facilities are in Indy, Anchorage, Oakland and Memphis. You might end up on a flight from Alaska to Seattle, but it's more likely you'll go to Oakland first to be sorted domestically, then back up to Seattle. Alternatively, it might go all the way to Memphis, but that would seem to be a supply chain inefficiency.

I'm in San Francisco, on the same timing as you, but are still scheduled for delivery tomorrow. That makes me think Oakland is our next stop.
 
I really thank you guys for helping with that. I will be watching flight 94 and my FEDEX updates. I am scheduled for a 24th delivery. Fingers crossed but I am confident it will happen.

Oakland would be great. I doubt Seattle would be first step.
Actually, I'm OK with Thursday; I've waited this long. What's another day 🙂

I'm in NJ and the cover I ordered went from Alaska, to Memphis, to Philly, to NJ all within about 14 hours. I received it the day after it arrived in AK. So it might not go directly from AK to EWR.

My guess is that mine will go out on the 3:16 PM AKDT FDX 94 flight to Memphis and I'll have it by tomorrow.

As Memphis is FedEx's hub and they have tons of flights out of there if it ends up in Memphis tonight, you're nearly guaranteed to have it by tomorrow.


You can find the FedEX flights from Alaska today at this web site, just choose FX for the carrier and ANC for the departure airport. According to the site, there's only 2 flights from Anchorage: a 3:16 AKDT flight to Memphis and a 4:05 AKDT flight to Newark.

Got my white 32gb wife yesterday

Ordered mine on 3/11 1:15AM PST.

Was not too happy to learn that Apple allowed people to order before 1AM since I would've done the same.

And some folks received theirs before I did although they ordered later than I did.

Found one dead pixel and the light leakage issue with my ipad 2.

Well, I only see FDX92 (NJ) and FDX94 (TN) leaving today out of Anchorage, and they're leaving within 50min of each other -- so those of us with delivery scheduled for tomorrow 3/23, regardless of destination, it looks like we're going to have to go through New Jersey or Memphis. For Memphis, it looks like it'll get there around 10PM (pacific)... they'd have to sort really quickly to get it back on a plane for LAX (I'm guessing, for me)... that's another 5-ish hours and then out to sort again locally, then onto a truck. Fedex usually shows up around noon for me. I'll be truly amazed if it gets delivered tomorrow.
 
Hallalujah!!! Things are moving now! I almost peed in my pants when we landed in Alaska! haha! Ok..not really but I did cheer like it was a touchdown in the last few seconds of a football game.

I'm in Los Angeles, so I think the next official stop is Oakland? I'm becoming more confident of my 3/23 by 4:30pm.

I don't see any flights from Anchorage->Oakland on FlightAware... but my tracking/sleuthing skills aren't as good as some in this thread... so I'm guessing we're going to Memphis, then back out to LA.

Fedex doesn't file flight plans until a few hours before takeoff, so you can't see flights more than a few hours in advance. For example, look how many flights in/out of memphis are scheduled overnight. Guaranteed many more than that will actually fly
 
Got it a day early! 😀 Package wasn't due until tomorrow.

Noticed an exception on Fedex tracking - said the package arrived at the distribution center after the courier left. I couldn't find the local center phone # so I called the 800 number and asked the lady if I could swing by to pick up the package. She said she would send a message to my local center and ask them to call me. I never got a call and checked my status to find out that my driver went back to the center to pick up my package. 😀😀😀

is Fedex the worst shipping company?

Well, today is the date for my schedule delivery (supposed to deliver by 4:30pm). Took a day off, and waiting patiently whole day and nothing arrived by 3:30pm. With one hour to go, I decided to give Fedex a call, and to my f#$@king surprise, Fedex lost my package, and need to go back and locate it. And their tracking system hasn't been updated since Sunday when parcel received in Memphis. This entire online order experience is just horrible. Will call Apple now... see what they can do😡
 
FedEx has filed two flight plans with the FAA from Anchorage to Memphis (source: Flightstats) the first leaves at 3:16 Anchorage time and arrives 12:10 am Memphis time and the second leaves at 4:05 pm Anchorage time and arrives 12:58 am Memphis time. I am outside Denver so by looking at past FedEx flight from Memphis to Denver on FlightAware I can see that they usually leave about 4:00 am Memphis time and arrive about 5:11 am Denver time (I have the benefit of the time difference). 12:58 am to 4:00 am seems like enough time for my iPad to transfer. So assuming I make one of the two flights from Anchorage to Memphis today, I should get my iPad as promised tomorrow. Fingers crossed.

Released from customs (I guess) and in time for the memphis flight it looks like..
 
FDX86 should fly every weekday. So my guess is it will depart from Anchorage to Oakland at 4:40pm sth local time. Then it should touch down at around 10 pm tonight.

So.... I walk into my local bestbuy and sitting on the back counter behind the Geeksquad Precinct sit... 12 iPad boxes 3G for AT&T and Verizon.. I walk out with the ipad. No more worries for me might sell mine when it comes from apple.
 
FedEx 94, Anchorage to Memphis, wheels up 3:14 pm local time. Now we wait to see if we get departure scans from Anchorage.

But you missed the visit to Lantau paradise =)

Anyhow, glad that you can find some at your local BB. My town's BB doesn't have anything at all.
