Judging from the path my smart cover took, it will be on a flight to Los Angeles at 2:30am and arrive in LA an hour later. We'll see....

Thx olegandbuster. I hope when u say tonight, you mean the night of the 23rd. I just cant see it reaching me on the 24th unless it leaves Lantau early in the am on the 23rd. We shall see though. When is yours expected? Is it on a layover in Lantau also? Thx again!

Mine left launtau island last night
Was in Alaska this morning
And has just landed in fort worth
Seems on schedule to deliver tomorrow in San Antonio
Has yours scanned as in Ft Worth yet? I'm in Dallas with a 3/23 delivery but Yahoo tracker lists mine as "Held at Sort Facility" in Anchorage and the FedEx tracker lists at as "In transit" as of 4:43.

I'm in North Cal and FedEx doesn't allow me to pick up. Were you easily able to setup pick up instead of FedEx attempting at least one delivery?
Wow, flying at 2:30am... Even that Fedex is running on a very tight schedule. Get to LAX and then to my local facility and deliver by 4:30pm... I am holding my breath....
My smart cover took 5 days traveling from PA to me and was at my local fedex facility the day before the delivery.
Mine too!!! Should be in Tulsa by about 4:00 and out for delivery!!! Should have it in my hands in about 12 hours!!! Can't wait!!!

Truly a long haul. Not that I haven't enjoyed the company along the way (misery loves company), I'm just glad it will be over tomorrow.
Next round, Apple needs to get it's ***** together and offer pre-orders. This launch was probably the worst that I've ever seen. Glad it's done!
It's clear that apple could've delayed the launch, manufactured for two or three more weeks, and had ample supply for the launch. I kept wondering why apple wouldn't just wait two weeks. It's not like they desparately needed the money. It would leave a lot more satisfied customers.
I was waiting in line for an iPad last week and I asked a lady the same question. She thinks that apple does it for the hype. As if they like people standing in lines for their product with little chance of actually getting one.
I'm curious what you all think!
It's possible they not mind it but a sale is probably preferable.
It is also very possible that they underestimated the popularity. I mean this thing just took off! The lines I saw were MUCH longer than the iPhone 4. In that sense I think they sincerely did not see this coming.
What's also different this time, is the international launch and to a whole bunch of countries so close to the US launch. Then foxconn has changed many of its policies after the suicides.... So I do think their manufacturing is overwhelmed!

My 64Gb Black ATT model made it to Memphis from Anchorage at 1:23am this morning with a scheduled delivery date of 3/23. There's no update after that. Think it made this flight to Norfolk leaving at 4:12am CST?

My black 16G AT&T iPad2 left the sort facility at 4:42am Memphis time (according to BOTH Yahoo and FedEx). I looked at flight aware for flights to Dulles from Memphis, but the flights that came up were earlier. It left so it's on a flight trying to reach me but it may not be flying to Dulles.

My iPad with identical specs left Memphis at the same time. Destination DC.
There was a FedEx flight from Memphis to Reagan that left at 4:42; scheduled to arrive at 7:09. Flight number 1557. Lands in just under an hour our time!

Nothing new on FedEx.com or Yahoo since my last! Still showsin AK, "RELEASED FOR DELIVERY" on 3/22 at 1413. I still have delivery date of today showing.
I called FedEx and CS said arrived on OAK for delivery today! Try calling and speaking to a human. The automated info just said it was en route to the destination facility for delivery today.
