Considering that Yahoo says that my iPad was held in Anchorage and FedEx keeps saying "In Transit", I am going to assume that it never made it on a flight to Memphis. Why, I don't know, when most of the other iPads in "my" batch did make it to Memphis.

I got screwed somehow by FedEx. Oh well, I was going to take tomorrow off work, so I guess it works fine, but it's annoying.

I can't believe it but it looks like my iPad might actually be going on my trip with me Thursday morning after beginning it's voyage from the plant on the 17th.

After four days relaxing on Lantou Island it spent only yesterday morning and part of the afternoon in Alaska.

Turns out it headed to Indianapolis (rather than the usual Memphis) from there made a short stop at the Chicago sort facility - hitting there an hour earlier than it's smartcover did last week.

There are only two steps left: "Arrive at local Fedex Facility - Northbrook" (Chicago suburbs) and then out for delivery and there is plenty of time for that today.

One of my iPad2(3G+32GB) has arrived at TX while the other one(64GB Wifi only) is still at AK.

SO I called FedEx customer support 3 hours ago. He said that it's normal and the delivery date should remain unchanced(Mar 23 16:30).

So..Let's wait and see.

Anyway, I called FedEx and they tell me that it WILL be delivered today no later than 4:30 pm, I also don't think it'll happen today. That's the kind of thing that they tell you to get you off the phone without any confrontation. I mean, why wouldn't we believe the person working at FedEx tracking packages for people every day? But we know that they are lying to us.

I'm going to keep an eye on the tracking for a while this morning, but if I don't see any meaningful changes that show a chance of delivery today, I'm not going to put my day on hold for a delivery driver that is not going show up today.

For the good of your relationship, I suggest you just hide your iPad and bring it out at the same time as your girlfriend's iPad gets delivered. Unless she doesn't live with you and has no idea what's going on

My last status is at 3:57 Alaska time and it says in transit and yahoo says held at sort facility. But it is supposed to be delivered today by 4:30 and the date hasn't been updated at all :/

My iPad with identical specs left Memphis at the same time. Destination DC.

There was a FedEx flight from Memphis to Reagan that left at 4:42; scheduled to arrive at 7:09. Flight number 1557. Lands in just under an hour our time!

Looks like 1557 just landed (7:15 am) at DCA (about an hour late ). Now I don't know which airport my cover landed, but once it made it off the plane at 6:23am, it got checked in an hour later at the "FEDEX Destination Location" before being marked as "On FEDEX Truck for Delivery" by 7:45 am. Sad part is that I can see DCA from my office building....

Given that we are in DC, big assumption that multiple trucks are going out for delivery throughout the day. My package isn't due until tomorrow, but I've never seen one held locally.

Hey, don't feel bad. I'm in the same boat as you. I've been in Anchorage for almost 24 hours now. I'm still showing a delivery of today by 4:30, but I have no confidence in that.

I think there are quite a few of us that got left in Alaska. My smart cover had the same thing happen last week and it don't leave for Memphis until around 3 PM the next day so not much hope for a delivery today unless FedEx does a special flight.

Has yours scanned as in Ft Worth yet? I'm in Dallas with a 3/23 delivery but Yahoo tracker lists mine as "Held at Sort Facility" in Anchorage and the FedEx tracker lists at as "In transit" as of 4:43.

Similar situation here, mine had been stuck in Memphis since 2:15 AM on the 22nd. So it's been there for about 30 hours with no updates since then. The scheduled delivery says today by 10:30am.

Mine has landed - Yahoo says it's left the FedEx sort facility - so I suppose the next I'll see is "on the truck for delivery." I hope it gets here before I have to leave at 2pm. Then I can plug it into charge (see how much its battery drained over the long time since it was "prepared for shipment" and it reaches me.) Set up my email accounts, WIFI etc. - and then tomorrow start downloading apps (or maybe tonight although I don't get home until late); I've made a list of the first downloads. Its arrival before I leave today would be very very nice. I hope the iCarbons skin arrives by tomorrow. The smart cover (black leather) has been waiting for it for days. I'm ready.

Yahoo tracking

Hey all, been following this thread for a few days now, my 32 GB Black WiFi was also stuck on the island. Just for the fun of it I decided to check Yahoo tracking, and saw that it left NARITA-SHI a few hours ago, yet FedEx site didn't have a change since yesterday morning, didn't even list the CHEK LAP KOK stop it made. I still have hopes for a 3/24 by 4:30 delivery to Pittsburgh!

I just want to say one more thank you to Macrumors and everyone who keeps updating information. I watched flight 94 fly from AK to Memphis and as suspected my 32g 3g ATT WAS in fact on board!

While my expected delivery is tomorrow it left the ramp in ft Lauderdale about 30 minutes ago. As luck would have it I have to go on a business trip and wont be back till Friday. Of course I called and asked if I could go pick it up from the "ramp" they did not chuckle at that.

Ha Ha. Well she will be the one accepting the iPad from the driver today. But I might be nice and not open my package until hers arrives tomorrow. But whio knows, maybe FEDEX will perform a miracle and send a special truck to our houses on a late flight this afternoon. Yeah right...

80 hours for me; others have had things move more rapidly. However, mine shipped out last Thursday, spent Friday, Saturday, Sunday and a good part of Monday on Lantau Island. It then flew to Ta Yuan Hsiang, spent about 24 hours there but once it made it onto a flight to Anchorage, then to Memphis, then to DC (where I live), things move fast. But "prepared for shipment" appears to mean it's thrown into a pallet somewhere with some iPad2 friends.

Why were some left behind

I am trying to understand why some were left behind in Alaska who have shipping dates of today and I see other postings showing that others have delivery dates of 3/24 who will now receive theirs a day early.

Did anyone else select the option to have your package held at a local FedEx facility because you weren't able to be home today? That is my scenario.

I feel bad for those who haven't been watching Yahoo tracker who still believe theirs is coming today because FedEx hasn't at least updated their delivery date. Many probably took a day off so they could be there.

Not a good business practice FedEx.

Nothing new on FedEx.com or Yahoo since my last! Still showsin AK, "RELEASED FOR DELIVERY" on 3/22 at 1413. I still have delivery date of today showing.

I called FedEx and CS said arrived on OAK for delivery today! Try calling and speaking to a human. The automated info just said it was en route to the destination facility for delivery today.

Mine still shows "In Transit" from Alaska since yesterday afternoon, so it is good to know that even though the tracking hasn't updated that it might still be delivered today as scheduled.

It was almost 4 days in "Prepared for Shipment" for me.
