Final iPad destination: Miami, FL

When I woke up this morning it was prepared for shipment (03/24/2011).
Original estimated date of Shipment: 04/01/2011 for delivery 04/08/2011.

Some useful tips:

Smart Cover shipment seems to have no bearing on when iPad will ship.

I found that when the funds are withdrawn from your bank account you have approx. 24 - 48 hours before your item goes 'PREPARED FOR SHIPMENT.'

And I bet you will have the same scenaio as I did when you wake up tomorrow and find that your iPad 2 was shipped overnight!

5 days in Prepared for Shipment status.
5 days in Hong Kong.
Held in Alaska overnight.

Then last night I had more nail biting.
Held in Memphis while other packages went out.
Sent to Orlando from Memphis
Tracking then showed it was back in Memphis until 8 am today
Then it appeared in Orlando again today much later than usual

It was now just finally put in a vehicle for delivery. Poor little iPad. I can't wait for this to be over. Ordered on 3/11 at 12:45 am PST.

Same exact thing here. Mine is held in Alaska and coming to philly. Maybe pa ones are going together.

Same here also. Mine is coming to Atlanta. 32Gb-black-att ordered at 12:58am pdt (3:58am edt).

It is still listed as on schedule for delivery by 4:30pm today so I spoke with fedex about it this morning. They are basically clueless on why it was held (they have no idea why it didn't get onto one of the at least 4 flights that have gone to Memphis since the package cleared customs), if it was held (their system has been very slow updating statuses and scans), or if it is actually still on schedule ("it could still be delivered today" said the rep to which I replied "How?").

When I ordered it and saw the estimated delivery dates of 3/18 to 3/25 I thought that Apple was just being extremely conservative and that there was no way it could possibly take that long to get it. Now I'm just wondering why I got up in the middle of the night to order it.

Maybe tomorrow will be my ipad day.

I am still hoping that it is not lost and they are just using it as an excuse because they couldn't get it to me on time. My status page is now blank where the estimated delivery date should be. 🙁
Gonna wait and see what happens tomorrow.
I also have a smart cover that is due to be delivered tomorrow. We'll see what happens to that as well!

I ordered my iPad 2 at an AT&T store Sunday March 13th about 2PM. My 5-7 Day shipping period ended Tuesday. I called the AT&T store where I ordered it and they said it more than likely wouldn't be shipped for another week.

From what I see here this week is all about getting the March 11 order out and that makes sense because they were first in line. But it does show the volume they're dealing with and how slowly its going to fill orders.

I'm thinking I'll be lucky to see any change in status for two weeks.

But, congrats to all who got your iPads. I know they're awesome.

In most cases this has been true, however, there was a large group of us that had an additional delay in Alaska that actually made FedEx miss their delivery date. I'm still waiting to see if it will arrive only one day late -- hopefully not two.

Mine was scheduled to deliver today. In fact as of now it still shows that. The package missed the PHX flight and still sits at IND with a zero chance of being delivered today. If it didnt take the extra days to get off lantau islans, or didnt go to Japan first it would have been delivered.

Thanks for your update! My BLACK 32GB AT&T began it's shipping journey overnight last night. Right now it's doing that vacationing thing on Lantau Island like the first batch of vacationer iPads did. Can't wait!

I see a lot of shipments leave a week before the estimated shipment, I made an online purchase March 13, 2011 4:53:19 PM CDT and current status says Shipping Apr. 11, delivery Apr. 14. Anybody has an idea when i could expect the ipad? I got the 64Gb WiFi. Some folk here seem to have a good handle on what's going on with the shipment estimates. Thx! 🙂

Miracle of miracles!

It finally arrived! After a treck around Asia it finally showed up yesterday at my front door just two hours before I had to leave to catch a flight to Vegas for vacation. My wife was so kind to unbox it and sync it for me so it was ready to grab and go to the airport. This thing is awesome! My first iPad. iPads a store..

So a store was kind enough to hold and let me pick up this morning 2 iPads
since as of yesterday FedEx finally told me they were lost. Even though they continued to track around the country, they said I probably would not get them any time soon.
I said fine, explained it to a Best Buy and then done..they (Best Buy) had them and held them overnight for me.
I get home this morning and my tracking is updated..
On vehicle for delivery..and estimated delivery is updated..to yesterday at 16:30..
It could only have worked out that way..
Hopefully for the next launch Apple will diversify its shipping and add UPS, DHL, anyone..just to lighten the load for everyone.
And allow pre-ordering.
Thanks to all of you who posted your info as you came by it..
it certainly helped to get an overall picture of what was happening and access to other resources..
All for one little tablet..
Thanks again and I hope everyone gets their deliveries soon.

So, lost as the shipment might have been, when it found it's way to Indianapolis it was re-scanned and magically reappeared on the grid. So if all goes well, it might actually show up today!

Fedex just delivered my 32GB Black AT&T iPad here in central NJ. For those tracking times on this site, the order was placed at 1:02AM PST on 3/11. Despite the missed scans along the way, it arrived within the delivery window (3/24) specified by Apple on the Shipping Notification.

I imagine the pipeline will now begin to accelerate a bit as the 3/11 orders complete delivery. Good luck everyone!

Here's my tracking info.

iPad 64GB WiFi+3G(ATT) ordered @ 12:37pm PST 3/11. Delivered to L.A. @ 10:01am PST 3/23.

Interestingly, when the package was in transit, it appeared to be sitting on Lantau for five days. Only after it arrived was the FedEx tracking page updated to show that, during much of that time, it had actually been traveling via Anchorage and Oakland. Also, the Yahoo tracker said it had made a stop in Taiwan, but this doesn't appear on the FedEx site.

I suppose the moral of the story for those of you still in Lantau Limbo, is that your iPad may actually be on its way, regardless of what the tracker says.
