I checked online and from what I could find there are no FedEx flights from Dallas to MCI - does FedEx ever put packages on commercial airlines? There are several AA flights going to MCI - otherwise I fear that it has to go to Memphis and then to MCI

Just curious what the box looks like that it comes shipped in? Is it obvious to tell that it's an iPad? Maybe that would help some of the people on here that are worried about pre-signing for the shipment. If it just looks like any old package you might not have to worry about pre-signing, but if it's easy to tell then I'd be hesitant.

Just looks like a normal box.. It could be anything in the box... I was going to pre-sign but said if I miss the fedex guy I will just pick it up after I get home from the sort facility....

It's a plain brown box slightly larger than the regular iPad box. It doesn't say Apple anywhere. Return to: AI is the closest thing to "Apple" It does have a part number and serial number so if someone was to inspect the box carefully and was in the know, they would figure out what's inside.

It also has a plastic cover with a piece of paper inside, if you were to rip that plastic open, take the piece of paper out and read it, they would see the Apple logo.

Ipad finally arrived today, after it missed the delivery date of yesterday and my delivery date disappeared, I had a trace open with Fedex and they had no idea where it was, seems that it was stuck in Memphis for 3 days. So to anyone who can't seem to find there package and its late, its probably waiting for a flight in a large container. My tracking info is below. Good Luck.

I bit the bullet and called FedEx, she said it will fly out of TX tonight and should be delivered tomorrow by 4:30pm so you can take that for what it is worth. I am hoping she isn't yanking my chain!

FedEx Sucks

So some bonehead at Memphis decided to send my iPad via truck to Dulles, VA.

Spoke with several FedEx employees, each claiming the package was in a different place. Supposedly the "real" location is on some freight truck heading to VA, scheduled to arrive between 1300 - 1400 or 1500 to 1600 depending on which FedEx employee I choose to believe.

BUT there seems to be NO crew available to unload this particular truck according to FedEx employee #1 yet FedEx employee #2 states the "evening" unloading crew will locate the package and expedite the delivery.

Completed this morning's FedEx interaction with a rather condescending voice mail (caller ID blocked) left by a FedEx employee in Hagerstown MD informing me that there were "thousands and thousands and thousands" of packages from "that shipper" to deal with. Really? Do tell.

She went on to inform me my package was still in Memphis. Oh?

I was further enlightened with her version of reality in that my address is in a non-priority area so even if they receive the package tomorrow morning, I would not likely get it before late afternoon. (Significance = I fly out tomorrow mid day.) The package was due YESTERDAY.

She was gracious enough to let me know she would watch for the package and call me back if they were able to find it. Said she would let me know when they could deliver it if they could actually do so tomorrow.

Called FedEx IPD and spoke to Gail (sp) again. She suggested I not try to establish contact with the jack a** in Hagerstown but rather allow her to deal with that individual.

Sounds like a good idea.

FedEX - you blew this Apple shipment BIG time.

Well, I have a completely logical sequence of events on mine. It arrived, was in transit to, and then departed. Perfect sense.

Scheduled delivery was for today by 4:30, but that's not happening. It has to go from IN to middle GA in about 4 hours and that's not happening. I expect it tomorrow though.

Actual point-to-point shipping time was only about 48 hours. The unit arrived much earlier than Fedex's estimated delivery date (March 29) and Apple's delivery date (April 6). A job well done by both.

My own unit (same model, same order time/date, same shipping time) was held over in Anchorage last night but hopefully will be on a flight this pm for delivery tomorrow.

Stuck in Alaska. Grrrr!

Well, after a 2 day vacation on the island in Lantau, it finally got to Anchorage. But the good folks at FedEx seem to think that it now needs some cold weather to offset the island vacation. So, now they are holding it inside at the sort facility. Other posts have shown iPads at the same timing as mine, but they were sent on their merry way without a holdover... Mine wasn't so lucky. Hopefully, they find a plane with enough room to send it back on its way, so it gets here per the "by 4:30 Mar 25" which is tomorrow. "Here" is Lancaster, PA.

I really don't want another weekend without it, after watching its wandering journey.

I can't complain to either Apple or FedEx as so far, all the dates fit with their original email, ordered at 7:20 am ET on the 11th, shipped within 5-7 bus days - Mar 22, and delivery between Mar 25-29... they still have time... I am still hoping for the 25th...

Like many of you, it appears after spending 3 days on an island vacation it's now chilling out in Alaska... grrrr! Called Fedex this morning, they assured me that it was going to be delivered today. Yeah, right. I've been reading these forums and this thread with great interest, I'm not surprised. They then told me that they were way behind in updating their website so that's why it was still showing in AK. Again... yeah, right. They suggested I call back after the local office opens time to make sure (even though she was "certain" the delivery would still be today, March 24). So I called back, this time I was told that it was in customs. The Yahoo small business site shows that it was released for delivery, doesn't that mean it's past customs?!? I asked her that, she transferred me to another rep who finally admitted that there was no way it would be delivered today (duh... winning). She said that it did not make it out of Alaska on a flight yesterday and could not give me any assurance on whether it would make it out today or not.......... So I ordered this on launch day just 3-4 hours after ordering started, and 2 full weeks later, still no iPad. I somewhat expected this, but now I'm getting pretty annoyed. Not really liking Fedex right now, they seem to not have it together, everyone seems to be given different stories...
Meanwhile, it still shows delivery scheduled on time for today. I highly doubt that will be happening.

My details as follows... there's been no update for a day now. I am refreshing the page far to often. Hoping it makes it out of Alaska this afternoon, otherwise it will be another weekend...
