Just talked with a person at fedex and they say yes looks like it missed a truck this morning but since it wasn't due for delivery till Tuesday that I can't pick it up till after that date and they may not even bring it monday because they have until Tuesday. What kinda BS is that. I never understand why you can't pick a package up. I understand if it is unsorted but I know it will be sorted long before Tuesday. The freaking facility is less than a mile from my home! GRRRR

You got a pretty good beef there. If you have some free time maybe you should just stop by there and complain, in a nice way of course. Maybe they'll change their mind if this is done in person as opposed to over the phone.
That is a joke, what do they care if you pick it up early. Saves them a trip to your house. As long as they can find it and you sign for it there shouldn't be a problem. Their system ought to be advanced enough where it would mark it as delivered/picked up.
In keeping with the goofy tracking of those iPad 2's that came before ours, this tracking is goofy as well...

But back to the thread: mine was ordered 2:46 pst on the 11th. 64gb ATT + engraved. Not yet shipped but from the sound of this thread it may be soon. Estimated currently shipping on April Fool's Day.
Well I called back just to make sure there was no way around the waiting. I was very nice and the lady at the local fedex place was very understanding...she puts me on hold and says "Sir, you just gotta wait for delivery. Don't worry, good things sometimes happen to those who wait." At first I thought she was being a smart arse but no she was sincere.
As of 5 minutes ago, my package shows that its on a truck to be delivered. LOL latest I have ever had a package go out was 8:30 or so. Very nice of them.

I guess I should've noted yesterday that my iPad 2 arrived early in the morning, probably around 9:30 AM. It's a black 32GB AT&T model. And I'm loving it! I hope everyone else enjoys their iPad 2! This was a fun thread to follow.

Shipping took exactly 72 hours from Shenzhen to my doorstep, and that includes a 24-hour delay in Anchorage. This is an absolutely astonishing performance on the part of Fedex for a standard (non-expedited) international parcel. And my girlfriend got hers (same model, same order time, delivery to NYC) in only 48 hours.
Apple's estimated delivery date was April 6. Fedex's estimated delivery date was March 29. Actual delivery beat the estimates handily. The only real difficulty at my end was reading the instruction manual (which was worth every cent just by itself).

My order is moving along.
Ordered 3/12/11 9:30am PDT with 3-4 week delivery. Smart cover was to ship April 4, but was shipped today. Still waiting for iPad to get to prepared for shipment it was not supposed to ship until April 11. Let's see if it ships a week early as well.
The fedex guy just pulled up to my office! Should have it in my hands in no time! Provided there isn't more than one fedex guy that comes to this office...

Cover arrived yesterday a week ahead of Apple's estimated shipping date. Hopefully same hold true for the iPad and it ships a week early which is currently listed to ship April 4th to northern Ohio.

Did it say not engraved before? My says "engraved" but doesnt ship till April 22
Sometime's it says engraved depending on if you're logged in or not, or if you went to the order status through the link in your email or straight from the apple page itself. I noticed that mine said Engraved, but then after I logged in I was still able to edit the engraving so I knew it wasn't done yet. Might want to double check on that.
@scarrickn - That's awesome of Fedex. I feel like they've been taking some heat on these forums but overall I think they've done a pretty solid job.
not necessarily .. i currently have a pending charge on the ipad for about 3+ days and still in a not yet shipped state (03/11 ~6:45p pdt order) .. the cover moved through a pending charge to shipped in about a day though
I don't really understand the retail market business, but i'm guessing that it's probably more profitable for a company (ie: apple) to push stock to their retailers before individuals - of course I'd be inclined to think that maybe they'd increase their store stock and start fulfilling orders for addresses in close proximity .. but I think that might be a little naive
I have standard delivery requested, does this mean Fedex will do a saturday delivery? My ipad is stuck in Anchorage waiting to get on a flight to Newark(I think) later this evening. If they do saturday delivery, there is a small chance I will get it tomorrow if not monday.
Fedex delivers on Saturday, and the Newark flight out of Anchorage should depart NLT 4 p.m. AKDT. Plenty of time to get you your iPad on Saturday barring accidents, storms, or unusual delivery situations (unless you're way out in the boonies).
PS: "Unusual delivery situations" would include maximum security prisons, gambling ships anchored offshore, and safe houses for Mafia dons in the Witness Protection Program. I hope this helps.

Thanks much for your explanation, as per fedex, I am scheduled to get my ipad by 3/29 4:30, if they make it tomorrow afternoon, it would be fantastic.

If you meant 3/29, then I had the same Fedex scheduling as you and got mine two hours ago. This scheduling is just a safe outer limit for delivery. These companies try to beat the schedule. Customers are much happier that way.
