Take comfort in the fact that you're a lot farther along than I am! Didn't order mine until March 17 with an estimated ship date of April 21. But everyone who ordered after me was pushed up to around the same date when the online shipping estimates changed so I am expecting a much earlier ship date (hence my stalking of these forums).

Sometimes they don't file their flight plans until an hour or so before takeoff but you can keep checking the fedex flight plans here: http://flightaware.com/live/fleet/FDX

They may or may not schedule another flight from Anchorage to Memphis tonight. You just have to keep checking. :/

check in the morning .. the times and messages are rarely that accurate - it's mostly just to give the warm fuzzy to people that things are moving along ..

in fact i wouldn't be surprised if they didn't scan packages on the planes as they were in transit and then fudge the numbers later .. (for example I was seeing a release time of 4:14P AKDT on yahoo that's now a 3:32P shipment release on FedEx and an in transit note) .. eh - what's the point of stressing about times and shipping containers - it'll get here when it gets here and I'm only at 17+ days from the original order and counting

I have the same message. If the scan is accurate, looks like my iPad 2 did not make the flight. Should know for sure as the Mephis flight is due to land in about 3 hours.

Are there any other flights out or Alaska for FedEx tonight to Memphis?

Oh well, I'm sure our iPads can hitch a ride on some other plane tomorrow if it didn't make the flight tonight. However, it is weird that the batch of iPads that came from Lantau Island, don't have the same tracking. Mine was actually release from international clearance before a lot of other people, but it was held at the sort facility while others seem to have left Anchorage

Just to recap, I ordered a black 64 GB WiFi model ordered on March 11, 8:01 P.M. CST. My card was charged on Saturday and went into the "Prepared to Ship" phase of its journey.

I just received my shipping notice from Apple. According to FedEx it should arrive on Friday. Apple says it will arrive by Monday. I think you can guess which one I'm hoping is correct. We'll see how the tracking goes tomorrow.

Almost the same thing here (although no charge showing up on my Amex yet). Here's to hoping Apple is just guessing based on a pre-set estimate while FedEx knows it somehow got lumped in with the overnights to the US! I mean, just because it was meant to take 3 days doesn't mean FedEx needs to let it sit around for 3 days collecting dust if it has some extra space on a cargo plane.

Radioshack Gets iPad 2 at 500 Stores March 29th

Radioshack will reportedly get iPad 2 units at its fleet of some 500 retail stores around the U.S. starting March 29th — that’s tomorrow, for those keeping score at home. The company is now advertising them on its Web site (9to5Mac.com found the link), and Mac Rumors was tipped off earlier on Monday that the devices were coming to Radioshack shortly.

Radioshack has long been an iPhone reseller, and it will be among a handful of third party retailers selling the iPad 2. It’s not yet clear how much inventory Radioshack will have, and Apple is already struggling to meet demand for the device. The company just started its international expansion, and the company’s online store currently shows 3-4 week ship times for all six versions of the device.

Accordingly, if you’re looking for one and don’t want to wait, good luck duking it out with some of your fellow Apple fans at a Radioshack on Tuesday.

Current tracking info states it is on the truck, out for delivery. Original shipping info from Apple said it would ship 4/1 with delivery on 4/6, so I'll be receiving it 8 days earlier.Not too shabby.

I also ordered late (March 16) with an April 20 ship date. Was told by Apple CS on the phone I would get an earlier ship date but no idea as to how early. Now I feel less crazy stalking the shipping forum

I Got My iPad 2 in Six Days!

On Friday, March 11th at 4AM, I ordered a White iPad 2 64GB/3G with AppleCare from Apple.com. I ordered it engraved.

I received it early afternoon on Thursday, March 17th.

That was quick!

Are you checking the regular fedex site? Check using the Yahoo Small Business Fedex tracker. Mine shows it left Chek Lap Kok around 19:00 (should be on flight FDX158 to Anchorage), but on the Fedex site it still hasn't updated and it says At Lantau Island.

If you're going to Memphis:
They usually fly later in the day. I think regularly they do 2 flights a day, one leaving around 3pm AKDT and another leaving soon after that (roughly 30-50 minutes later). Last week though, they flew 5 flights on Thursday and 6 on Friday. It's harded to determine flight numbers on this but I think it would be FDX 94 and FDX 28.

If you're going to Oakland, Newark, Ft. Worth there is probably only 1 flight a day scheduled (if necessary they'll fly more but I wouldn't count on it now):
to Oakland - leaving around 4:45pm AKDT (FDX86)
to Newark - leaving around 3:50pm AKDT (FDX92)
to Ft. Worth - leaving around 3:45pm AKDT (FDX5092)

These are the paths that most iPad's took last week once they cleared customs in Anchorage. From reading this forum it seems like there were larger quantities being shipped last week so I'd guess it is less likely they'll add additional flights. And I'm also not sure if it will affect whether everything will go through Memphis now or they'll continue to route through the other smaller hubs (ft. worth, newark, oakland).
