I ordered March 29th and its prob gonna be here Monday so that's longer for me..
But at some point around that time the est. shipping times went from 4-5 weeks down to 2-3 weeks.
I ordered April 6th. White 16gb Wifi.
Went prepared for shipment wed 4/20
Got shipping notice yesterday morning at 7:00 am
Left china in transit to KY at 7:20pm china time 4/22.
Now it still hasn't updated but in the email apple sent they estimated a 4/26 delivery.
Original delivery date was 4/28. Then it changed to 5/2 when I got my shipping notice, now it's moved up again to 4/26. But I'm hoping it comes Monday 4/25.
Mine was on this flight as well, and I ordered on March 20th. Tracking info however hasn't updated in nearly 48 hours- still shows location CHENGDU, CN with delivery being scheduled...
Just checked my tracking number now it says this.

That's encouraging. So it seems that they are anywhere from 2 to 5 days ahead of the 3-week time frame, probably depending on the model.
I ordered April 9th.
Shipped yesterday and will be delivered Tuesday was originally meant to ship on the May 2nd and be delivered May 6th

This is way too vague. I tend to agree now UPS sucks!!
I see the same status for my ipad. It was stuck with the departure scan status for more than 30 hours, with a delivery estimate of Monday, April 25th by 10.30AM, and now this is what I see (with the delivery estimate info missing):

In the midst of my hypothesizing, my April 8th order just went from "not yet shipped" to "prepared for shipment."
I just called to make sure I had the right day for delivery so I could be home from work. They told me it cleared customs in china and is on it's way.
They told me delivery would be by 4/25 no later than 10:30 am.
Sounds good to me. So if you don't have a delivery date on ups site call and they can tell you.
UPDATE: My little iPad just traveled another 2 hours and is at UPS location just 20 minutes away from my house!! We still have 2.5 hours to go until 12:00pm so we shall see if Santa's Sleigh (what we have always called the big brown UPS truck) pulls up in front of my house. Wow, this is very exciting 
I'm wondering why some orders have fairly up-to-date tracking info from UPS while for others of us the details have "stalled"... I even tried the UPS email tracker last night, but instead of more info it actually returned LESS.
So my delivery date used to say 4/25 no later than 10:30 am on UPS, but a little while ago I had a similar change in status update:

When I called they told me that since it had been held up for a day at the last location it would not be delivered by Monday and would be delayed by at least a day, and it would be impossible for them to tell when it will be delivered until they get more information from China.
I hope that your UPS person was telling the truth, but I wouldn't hold your breath for a monday delivery.

i called ups and they said that it will still be delivered on monday 25th by 10:30 am.

More likely it's approximately first come, first served. I'm sure it depends on your location and the model you ordered (black v. white, 16 v. 32 v. 64, wi-fi/3G).
And here is the bad news, according to a phone call I just had with UPS
My little iPad is sitting in the UPS facility, 20 minutes from my house. The delivery center is closed until Monday, and they won't let me go to the facility to pick up the package. Cruel and unusual punishment, indeed!

I also ordered a white 16gb but with ATT 3g and engraving on April 6 and I have seen no change to the original April 27 shipping estimate.
