Just got off the phone with ups and apple. Ups is clueless and apple says we don't know it's in the carriers hands. The best guess they gave me was wed.
apple said nothing gets shipping from china on sat or sun so I guess we just missed the cutoff Friday night.

Looking at the flight tracker, I agree - we will not get the ipads before Wednesday.

It sucks to wait for cool new gadgets. I had the same situation when my iPhone 4 was supposed to be shipping out to me. I called AT&T every other day wanting to know where it was.

Ironically enough, I just got my iPad a couple of hours ago, and I'm not even excited--have a relative that is close to death and my wife is having some health problems too. An iPad seems insignificant when you have family members who need you.

My point is, just be patient and enjoy the excitement of getting your iPad soon. Life is too short to stress about this stuff. Calling and calling isn't going to get it here any sooner, right?

The lack of information from UPS here is appalling. Many of us were told over the weekend that we should still expect the delivery today by 10:30, even though the lack of updates in the tracking system left the likelihood of that very low. We make arrangements to be available for delivery, only to be disappointed. If there's no movement out of China over the weekends, we have been told this. UPS does not belong in this game, and I hope Apple drops them.

Stuck in China

I'm in the same boat as everyone else with my iPad being shipped from UPS, and watching this thread has really kept me informed with what other people are experiencing. Thanks guys for posting your details, it really is helpful.

But anyway, it's frustrating. I was promised a delivery by 10:30am this morning, I was skeptical because my status was stuck on 'In transit to Louisville' all weekend as well, so I guess my iPad is on the same plane. But to be safe, I even skipped my morning class to stay home in case it was going to be delivered this morning, and I could sign for it. But I missed class for nothing, and now I'll have to skip class once again whenever I learn it's true delivery date.

Hang in there guys, we'll get ours soon enough.

Thanks man--Everyone at work thinks I'm crazy that I'm sitting here with this UPS box unopened on my desk, and the truth is I still have a shift of work to get done, I have to get this thing home on the train, get my two kids in bed, get my wife situated and comfortable, and THEN I can start setting up my iPad.

I think I'll be a lot more excited about it once I open the box and start setting it up, but for now it's just not top on my list to tear this thing open and stare at the screen telling me to plug it into iTunes.

basically people who were lucky enough to have apple use fedex for their ipad will have them before the people who were unlucky enough to have apple use UPS for their ipad even though they were both shipped out of china on the same day...

I'd guess it's more a Chengdu vs. Shenzhen production issue. Shenzhen is practically in Hong Kong. Chengdu is about 900 miles inland.

I hate ups.

They're running our ipads all over asia as though they have no idea what they're doing.

On the shipment notice it did say, for me april 26th, but i dont see ups getting from hong kong to the east cost US in one day. I will be calling apple tomorrow to claim whatever i can get for not fulfilling their delivery commitment. Im also on 2 day shipping, this has to be the slowest 2 day shipping ever!

Ipad 2

Glad to know that I am not the only one. I ordered my Ipad 2, 32 gig wifi white on March 28, 2011 and it shipped on the April 21st via UPS (why it is going UPS is beyond me when I thought Apple used Fedex). When it originally shipped it gave me a delivery date of 4/25/11 10:30 AM of course seeing that it hasn't made it to the states yet I can assume that I maybe lucky to get it before the end of the week. Urgh.

FedEx UPS

Everybody wants the ipads now (me too) but things get hung up in China by customs constantly ( I work in customs). both carriers are taking about 4 days to get ipads into the US. When I ordered my Verizon iphone 4 I spent all day cursing at Fedex. I'm trying to relax about the ipad. But I dont think one carrier is any better than the other. Thought I would get it today but no luck.

yes mine was schedule to ship on the 25th, but instead shipped on the 21st, still waiting for it to be delivered.

I never got an e mail that it went to PFS, but I got an e mail the second it shipped and had a tracking number. (I believe that was last Tuesday or Wednesday.) It was still in China from Wednesday through Saturday morning, but I checked later in the day on Saturday and it had hit Alaska. After that it seemed like every time I checked it was in a new place. Seems like once it hits the US you're probably only a day or two from having it in your hands. (Mine was UPS by the way.)

iPad 2 order

Ordered mine on April 13th, Black 64GB AT&T. Order status still says not shipped and is set to ship May 4th and delivered May 6th with the 2 day shipping I paid for. I called 800-MY-APPLE today and asked about the new decreased shipping times and was told an e-mail went out to some who ordered between the 13th and 20th saying their shipping had been moved up. Mine hadn't changed and the person I spoke with couldn't give me a reason as to why mine wasn't moved up or any surrounding details.

Id be PO'd guess I got lucky, mine went out of CHENGDU via UPS on the 22nd, and just made it this morning to the SHIPITAPO guys to send it to me in the middle east, so I wont get it till at least Friday, but if it got stuck like that Id REALLY be PO'd.
