I spoke with apple today and they told me mine is being assembled right here in the US.
ordered on april 2nd 16gb/black/wifi/engraved
I've been on PFS for more than 48 hours now.
ships: Apr 25
delivers: Apr 27
Technically it's already April 26 here where I am at.
And it is still prepared for shipment, no tracking number whatever. And no email saying it failed to ship out on the 25th.
Am I the only person experiencing this?
I can't help but to feel really sad.

Does anyone know how my iPad has a ship date of May 4th and a delivery date of May 5th if they all supposedly come from China? I live in New York and mine was ordered on April 15th.
Looks like the delivery date is back on mine and will be delivered today

I'm actually quite proud of UPS, even after all the hangups in China. Within 24 hours, they flew it from the middle of China to where it is now, about 15 minutes down the road from me at the facility (I live on the east coast, United States), and expecting to hop on a truck and be at my door by 10:30am this morning.

i spoke with apple and they told me that some ipads are made here. i have a 28 shipping date and 29 delivery. will let everyone know what happens. i live in NY too.

OK, my ipad 2 was ordered on march 29th..........supposed to be delivered by 4/25......its now 4/26, and the damn thing is still sitting in Hong Kong.......since the 24th!!!!!!!! I dont understand whats going on!

I checked UPS site with the new tracking number, and it looked like it belong to another customer - there were 2 packages in the shipment, and was being shipped to NY (instead of where I live).
I called back UPS, telling them that the "new" tracking number belongs to someone else. They said I should contact Apple, as they cannot help me. I called Apple, and verified that the original tracking number is still associated with my shipment, and the "new" tracking number actually belongs to some other customer from NY!
With this info, I called up UPS (yet again!), and they asked me to keep looking at their tracking website for any updates, as thats all they could do at the moment!

That's happening with a lot of people lately, including me. I was stuck with that 'check for updates later' status for a couple days, but then yesterday it flew out of Hong Kong and is now on the truck on the way to my house, and it's only been 24 hours. Apparently with UPS, it goes through some hiccups with customs over in China. But once it clears, it ships out super quick. Give it some time, you'll see some updates soon.Funny thing... Yes. The flight out of there to anchorage, AK was supposed to leave almost 3 hours ago. Hope it still delivers tom.
I'm stuck here too, with what looks to be several others. Post 9520 refers to a multiple day delay experience in Hong Kong (followed by a very quick delivery), and post 9519 got strange information from UPS about a changed tracking number that didn't seem to be the case.
I have nothing good to say about UPS on this. The information in the tracking system is spotty and unclear (e.g., "Pkg. shipped" from where we're stuck in Hong Kong implies that it actually left that location). And many of us were told by UPS over the weekend that they still expected the delivery to be yesterday by 10:30. They really should have known better than to say that; it shows that they really don't know where the package is, nor do they know what's holding it up... if it's customs, then say that in the tracking system. I would have much preferred to have mine ship FedEx from Shenzhen.
dang.........Any idea why the delay? Sure hope it makes it to the states today! On Friday it will be exactly 1 month since i placed the order........i'm going crazy waiting!
That would explain my may 5th ship and may 6th delivery date. I was wondering that also. I live in NJ. Maybe since NY/NJ has such a high demand for them, the ones that are made in the US are always shipped out to us. Just a thought.
Glad to know that I am not the only one. I ordered my Ipad 2, 32 gig wifi white on March 28, 2011 and it shipped on the April 21st via UPS (why it is going UPS is beyond me when I thought Apple used Fedex). When it originally shipped it gave me a delivery date of 4/25/11 10:30 AM of course seeing that it hasn't made it to the states yet I can assume that I maybe lucky to get it before the end of the week. Urgh.

) my original estimate said delivered between 25th and the 27th so technically it's still on track... but I don't understand why, when you pay for expedited shipping, the tracking starts in China... and doesn't arrive for about a week. I've had things that ship from Asia and arrive in 2-3 days (EMS works great for this ) but UPS expedited doesn't seem to... (I ran into the same shipping tracking weirdness when I ordered my iPod touch, actually.)I just hope the tracking magically updates soon so I know if it's coming tomorrow or not. sigh. (I wouldn't object to it showing up today, but that feels extremely unlikely... XD)
