"Not yet shipped"!

I ordered 64gb White wifi only model at 1:24am PST and mine still says not yet shipped!! The suspense is killing me!

No ATT 3G shipping?

Has anyone had their ATT 3G shipped? I've ordered at 6 am EST last Friday. The smart cover shipped today but the iPad 32gb is still marked not yet shipped.

Just been looking at Cargo Departures going out of hong kong international airport, the first Fedral Express plane going to the US says "Taipai/Memphis" under destination, i can only assume it's going from HongKong > Taipai > Memphis, and thats at 4pm in Hong Kong, the first direct flight to Memphis is at 8:05pm, with a flight about 2 hours before that going to Paris/Memphis. Personally i think they will be put on the flight direct to Memphis. A bit of googleing reveals Memphis is where Fedex's US SuperHub is located.

Thanks for the info. Solid research. When's it supposed to arrive in Memphis? I have a feeling once it's in Memphis, we should be receiving our iPads within a day or two.

No they haven't. My wifi shipped. My ATT 3G, and others, still 'not yet shipped'.

Im starting to believe what most have been saying, there seems to be delays with the at&t 3g versions ((((((grrrrrrrrr

I got my Shipping announcement for my 32Gb Wi-Fi Black last night at 12:00am (est) and it says I will get both the Camera Kit and the iPad 2 on Thursday by 4:30pm. I ordered it at 4:07am (EST) on Friday.

White 16GB Wifi?

Anyone have shipping info for the plain ol' 16GB WiFi only (white) version?

Still hasn't moved from "not yet shipped". Ordered at 1:17am PST.

Hah, I was 4 minutes behind you with a white wi-fi 64GB and I'm still waiting for it to switch from "prepared to ship" to "shipped"!! I mean, the accessories are out the door already, but my iPad is languishing in China...*sigh* ...good things comes to those who wait...and I've been waiting! :D

It seems like it's all just random order shipping, but that can't (or shouldn't) be the case. I'm not sure how Apple handles production lines over in China, but it wouldn't surprise me if each of the various models (two colors and three capacities in either a Wi-Fi or Wi-Fi + 3G, plus apply engraved or not engraved to all possible configurations) are assembled in different locations and perhaps in different factories all within proximity.

Also it probably depends on which models they allocated more resources towards or figured which iPad models would be the most popular (i.e. a 16GB Black Wi-Fi, just a guess). These iPads are being shipped straight from the factory as soon as they are assembled, but that still doesn't explain why someone ordering before me with the same configuration wouldn't have received a notification yet.

My only other thought is how the orders/transactions went through. Some credit cards could have taken longer to authorize the purchase for whatever reason causing a delay; like the unusual time of a big purchase in the AM, or some other reason I can't think of.

Maybe it just boils down to inefficient ordering or sales software. Who knows. Maybe since I used an :apple: Gift Card I got bumped up in the production line, haha, I seriously doubt that though. I'm just speculating and throwing out possible reasons for the shipping notification delays.

Patients can be painful, and I really hope everyone who ordered in the early morning hours of the 11th will receive their iPads this upcoming week. Stay optimistic!

I'm leaving on a trip out of the country on the 19th and I'm very thankful that my order has progressed to where I should receive it before leaving. I think I speak for everyone here when I say we CAN'T WAIT to get our hands on our iPads. Especially if you're going to become a first time owner of an iPad like me.

In anticipation I've been buying some iPad apps and I've found a few on sale this weekend only. Here's a list to look at while you keep refreshing your order status. All-the-ipad-apps-and-games-on-sale-right-now (via Gizmodo)

not yet shipped

Black 64gb WiFi + 3G for AT&T, ordered at 3:44am EST, not yet shipped! Smart covered shows as shipped (tan leather).

I ordered a 16gb white wi-fi at 1:00am pst and mine is set to deliver Thursday, March 17th.

I ordered 17 minutes after you, however, I'm still stuck in "not yet shipped."

I am curious to see how this all works (logistically). Makes me wonder if it is software, or if this is all just normal and we are getting worked up because of the excitment! :D

It's coming

Just like many others my iPad2 and Digital AV adapter are set for delivery, via FE EX. this Thursday, March 17th.

I am absolutely elated that it's being delivered by Fed Ex. :)
My iPad came, almost a year ago, via UPS. What a disaster!
I've always had poor service and late deliveries through UPS.

Fed Ex always delivers to me in the morning. And their service is great!

Oh, 32 gb black wifi . . . same configuration as my iPad

It's odd that all of us AT&T users are the ones getting boned in this...wasn't AT&T Apple's first and only love until just recently? Yet we are the only ones who have iPads that aren't even prepared for shipment?
:confused::confused::confused::confused:

I have to be in the front of the very first wave too...
Ordered at 12:49am
32gb AT&T black - not yet shipped
Tan leather smartcover - shipped today

This may be a silly question, but how do some people know the exact shipping date (i.e. April 1)? Did you guys order through ATT/Verizon or MacMall or something? All I have is an estimated delivery date and a "prepared for shipping" thing on my order from Apple.com

Maybe they are using information obtained through tracking numbers ? ? ?
Oh, never mind . . . I haven't got a clue ; )

Well, it's hard to find the flight time but from what i can find it's around 17hours !

Now i'm typing i realise some quick Math would be easier. The distance can easily be found, 8100 miles. Boeing 737's have a cruising speed of 485mph (assuming its a similar plane they use, of course)

8100 / 485 = 16.7hours flight time. Owch. Very few planes can fly that far, especially at full load. From some further research none of the planes in federal express's fleet can accomplish this, barely 2/3rds of the distance in fact. Which is somewhat confusing, they must have to stop somewhere (but that screws up my idea of indirect/direct flights).

Anyway, Hong Kong is +8hours and i think Memphis is -5 hours. So if the flight takes off at 8pm at night... 8pm at night is 7am in the morning in Memphis, so it'd arrive 12noon there taking into account the change in time zones.

My math is not great, i am sure i went wrong somewhere. But you get the idea :D Calculating travel times when you cross time zones confuses me :p

I'd say there's almost no way it goes right from Hong Kong to a city like Memphis (or Atlanta for me).

They'll probably all come into the US at one point (Alaska, LA etc.) and from there get on Fed Ex planes to the closest major Fed Ex center, then get driven to your local Fed Ex hub, and then on a truck for delivery the next day.

That's why delivery is the 17th for most of us, despite them being on a plane in HK already apparently.

Any of you in "Prepared For Shipment" status had your account/card charged yet? My checking account shows the money was pulled but my status has not changed.

Also, I was very sleepy when I ordered mine at 4AM EST and accidently ordered 2 covers. Both are gray. Do the Apple retail stores accept exchanges from online orders? Rather than go through the hassle of sending a cover back, I'd like to exchange it for a different color. Thus having 2 available based on mood of the day. :D
