But you were quoted with 3-5 Business days before it ships and its only been 1 business day get it till tomorrow or tuesday...
 
i ordered a 32gb black att 3g from apple when the site went live, no info yet


I just placed order with ATT for the same thing 10 minutes ago, we will see which one gets here first lol

Of course the exact same version I ordered through AT&T at the same time shipped by free 2nd day air an is set for delivery on Monday. 🙂

Well I figured that much! 🙂 I referenced a future date (April 1st in my original comment) implying my question was for those whose orders haven't been shipped yet.
 
I ordered a 64GB iPad WiFi + 3G Black on AT&T and can confirm that it is still in the "Not yet shipped" category. Ordered at 1:04 AM PST. Red leather smart cover is 'Prepared for shipment"....


I am compulsively checking the order status page! Should have waited in line.... Can't believe that I spend almost 1K on the best available model and case and it ships after the cheap ones! 😱

When did you order with AT&T? I ordered with a rep at around 11AM ET yesterday morning, and I received an order confirm, but no email yet. When I called AT&T, it did not say 14-21 business days, but the rep advised me it could take up to 7-21 BD.
 
With all these random shipping reports I bet many people will receive orders at the same time and find that with the volume of orders FedEx just has not gotten to scanning all of the shipments yet.
 
I think the 3G orders will break loose on monday. As far as that, I think almost all orders are on the same planes. With or without shipment status at today

Ordered yesterday, Saturday 6:30PM and I have tracking numbers already along with AT&T letter stating it shipped.

To all those who had their orders wrongfully cancelled, it appears that Apple is reinstating those orders and will try to ship them on time. Below is the message I just received from Apple:

"We appreciate your recent purchase at the Apple Online Store.

Due to an unexpected issue, your original iPad order was canceled in
error. We have reinstated your order and are working hard to ensure
your iPad arrives on the originally quoted delivery date.

You can visit <apple.com/orderstatus> for the most up-to-date
status of your order.

We appreciate your business, and apologize for any inconvenience this
may have caused.

Sincerely,
Apple Online Store Team"

Now i'm typing i realise some quick Math would be easier. The distance can easily be found, 8100 miles. Boeing 737's have a cruising speed of 485mph (assuming its a similar plane they use, of course)

8100 / 485 = 16.7hours flight time. Owch. Very few planes can fly that far, especially at full load. From some further research none of the planes in federal express's fleet can accomplish this, barely 2/3rds of the distance in fact. Which is somewhat confusing, they must have to stop somewhere (but that screws up my idea of indirect/direct flights).

Anyway, Hong Kong is +8hours and i think Memphis is -5 hours. So if the flight takes off at 8pm at night... 8pm at night is 7am in the morning in Memphis, so it'd arrive 12noon there taking into account the change in time zones.

My math is not great, i am sure i went wrong somewhere. But you get the idea 😀 Calculating travel times when you cross time zones confuses me 😛

It will go from HK to Alaska, clear customs in Alaska then on to Memphis, then to your local shipping facilty. My AppleTV did the exact same route about 3 months ago. Should be Tuesday or Wednesday delivery depending on your distance from Memphis.

Home Delivery is a Ground service. Express does not deliver on Saturday's unless it 2nd day with Saturday seclected or Prioritoy Overnight with Saturday selected.

Thanks for the clarification.

I seldom get anything from fed ex. I mainly order with Amazon Prime and everything has came UPS with a couple things coming USPS.

I also tend to avoid Fed Ex if I have an option as I've had more issues with them over the years than I have with UPS.

I ordered an iPhone 4 from Canada before. The route was:


SHENZHEN CN
LANTAU ISLAND HK
MEMPHIS, TN
MISSISSAUGA, ON
TORONTO, ON

Not sure why it would go to Alaska 🙂
 
I ordered mine on friday with macmall. it said it had shipped on friday, but the tracking number was never put in!
