Ipad Wi-Fi/3G 32GB White Personalized AT&T

Has Steve forgotten about me!
Approaching the 51st hour since I placed my order for my new beautiful white 32gb wifi/3g iPad with my name engraved and still no response. Has Appletown USA forgotten about me? Does Steve know that I'm waiting here becoming inpatient by the hour just waiting for some sort of acknowledgment!! Life is becoming so miserable as I realize there are hundreds maybe thousands of people playing with their new iPad 2 and my hands are empty. Are they (the chosen ones) downloading fun apps from the Appletown!! Are their friends sitting there in envy because they have this awesome machine. My friends are laughing at me because I chose to order online!! Why Steve Why!! I need some kind of answer now. Is my invoice sitting on the ground somewhere forgotten and Betty Appleclerk hasn't looked down to see I have been forgotten!! The Steve know I am not being served! Breakfast didn't taste the same today and lunch will be horrible, and I won't have an appetite for dinner until I receive my shipping notice, until then I'll close my eyes and dream of my new iPaddy (I named him already in honor of St Paddy's day) and hope we'll be together soon!!:apple:
P.S. I can almost picture my missing iPad on a milk carton somewhere:mad:

The only planes in the world that could make it from Hong Kong to Memphis, according to about 15 minutes of quick research, are the Airbus A380 (In fact it would be sputtering the last of it's fuel fumes as it landed) and i think that is totally unloaded weight, and no doubt some military planes could go that distance and further.

It's probably true (though unfortunate) that it goes to Alaska first, which sucks, because my ipad is heading straight to south carolina.. quite a distance away :p Probably a wednesday, thursday or even friday delivery for me.

edit:

Just looked at boeing 777's, there are one or two special models which could indeed make the trip. I know FedEx has 777's but who knows if they have one of the few variants to make the 8000m trip. And even if they did, who knows if it's one that is picking up our iPads.

Nah. Depending on the load, The 777 and A340 could easily make it and the longest range variant of the 747 could make it too.

Alaska lies pretty much half way directly along the "great circle route" shortest distance between Hong Kong and America. It makes sense as a place to stop for a variety of possible reasons. Cargo carriers typically use older airplanes models than airlines that are cheaper for them to buy but might have shorter range. They might load them heavier with cargo and thus be able to take less fuel. Maybe Fedex was able to get federal funds to build a dedicated customs facility for them in Alaska.

FedEx operates multiple direct flights from China to Memphis utilizing its 12 777's. The maximum range for the 777 freighter configuration is 9,420 nautical miles.

Glad to see some of the at&t 3g ipads being prepared to ship. I'm going to continue to refresh until I see one of or both of my 16 gig black ipads being "prepared for shipment." Ughh this is frustrating.

Correct, but if they are at maximum load they can barely do 5500miles. I know the iPad 2 is lighter than the old one, but it's still fairly hefty :D

Here's my order.

Just go to flightaware.com - search for Federal Express Flight 98 (FDX98) - daily non-stop from Hong Kong to Memphis.

There are two flights that appear direct to memphis from HK at 8pm and 10:15pm, and 3 other ones which end up in memphis but stop part way for whatever reason in other countries.

I don't know how many iPads you can fit on a 777 but i can't imagine it's anywhere near the amount that have shipped. I hope i'm wrong, because it'd be nice if everyone who's ipad has been shipped and it waiting at Hong kong fedex facility got put on the flights tommorow, or today if your speaking HK time.

I was merely responding to your comment that it couldn't be done on any plane other than the A380. Looking at flight plans it looks like a good chunk of FedEx's China to US flights are direct to the hub in Memphis now. This will be a departure for people who've ordered Apple products that shipped from China in the past.

so, I got exactly what you have down to the personalization... I better be next

OMG, you even personalized with the same text? How many letters?

We are all crazy. I am afraid to tell people (1) that I have spent 1K on a piece of electronics (2) that I have been obsessing the entire weekend about when it is going to ship.

At least my excuse is that I talked myself out of buying the first ipad.

Of course it's not the same text, well I hope it is not because that would be weird. My text states: 1st line: Live.Love.Laugh 2nd line: esha 87 (also on my license plates) .. Don't judge me (I'm a college student) LoL

Name and address engraved on mine. Figured that would kill a thief's resale value. Not planning on upgrading for two years and then it gets passed down.

Not gunna lie, I'm frantically refreshing every minute waiting for my 64GB 3G Black to change. All around the same time as those that are now prepared. :D
