Correct, but if they are at maximum load they can barely do 5500miles. I know the iPad 2 is lighter than the old one, but it's still fairly hefty :D

The way "maximum loads" work in airplanes is that there's a maximum weight of fuel you can fly, a maximum weight of stuff in the cargo bay that you can fly, and the all important MTOW: Maximum Take Off Weight.

The MTOW being lower than the maximum weight of fuel and maximum weight of cargo that the plane is certified to fly together, usually there is a point where for every extra pound of cargo you take you have to remove a pound of fuel, which would severely reduce range. However, filling the tanks with enough fuel to make the 7,200 nm trip from HKG to MEM still leaves a lot of room for cargo.

Do either of you know the airspeed velocity of an unladen swallow?

My ATT order was at 4:12AM. Wonder how many ATT iPads were ordered between the start of sales and 4:30

I ordered at 4:06 EST and it hasn't changed at all.

Still no movement on the 32gb black wifi+3g verizon ipad I ordered @ 3:01am CDT on 3/11/2011. Received my email confirmation @ 3:40am. Wonder what the hold up is. Makes me wish i didn't stumble upon this site :D, because i wouldn't be checking compulsively as I am! Oh well, it is what it is. Just hope I get it by the end of this coming week.

Yep it is pretty clear one of the reasons FedEx went with the 777F was that it would eliminate fuel stops on longer routes like China to MEM. The 777's MTOW is over 140k pounds higher than the MD-11's which previously served these routes. That makes a huge difference.

African or European?

Refresh

I heard a rumor that they bump you up in the queue for shipping online orders based on how often you refresh your order view screen?

Could that be true?

Ugh, exact same thing and still no luck for me... But I tried to cancel the engraving only to be told I'd have to cancel the order, ended up changing the engraving. Wonder if that hurt me?

Probably not. I ordered 15 minutes before that with no engraving..same model...and mine hasn't done anything yet.

don't do it .. if you change it, it will push you to the end of the wait. I ordered @12:47am then changed the engravement and it pushed me to 1:06 am. I called apple and they said when you make changes it resubmit your order.
