I have the same config and it still says "Not yet shipped." I understand I'm still within the 3-5 business days range, but still. I'm just impatient.![]()
But When I check Flightaware.com for FedEx Flights from HK to Alaska, I don't see any...Hopefully Ill get an update soon and my smart cover will get updated soon too
mine shows the same.
I called the rep in special services.
Just called FedEx Int'l to see what my iPad 2 was up to since it still says "LANTAU ISLAND HK" the lady at FedEx said it is in the air..so
Hopefully it will get to Alaska, then Memphis, then South Carolina!!

Guys, isn't it quite common for carriers to overflow to commercial aircraft? If so, checking "Fedex" planes isn't getting you the entire picture.
I'm an airline pilot and I use flightaware quite often. From my experience, the only international flights that are usually reliable on that site are the European flights bound for the US. Until the flight gets into US airspace, it can't actually track the flight, it gives an estimated position - if it gives anything at all. I believe the birds are in the air, and we'll get notified when they get to PANC or KMEM. FA is a great site, but many international ones are incorrect - ESPECIALLY the Asian flights.
I am not sure how the rep figured it went to alaska. If it is on FedEx Flight FX48 (which left at about 8am memphis time), the plane does not stop. It is a direct flight from Hong Kong to Memphis. Hong Kong airport says so, flight tracker says so, and flight stats say so. The plane is a Boeing 777-200LR/F and can make the journey without a stop.
Not moaning at you it just seems weird that the fedex support seemed to think it went to Alaska but all the flight tracking websites disagree.
Everyone needs to know that every iPad 2 is being shipped into Memphis. I know a lot about FedEx, I know how they do things, and trust me there is no need to panic or get upset. Also you have to understand Apple is not going to ship the iPads based on priority of who ordered first and whose is more expensive, they are just trying to get the orders shipped as fast as possible. This is what I know, if you ordered an iPad when the shipping estimate was 3-5 business days, you will receive your iPad by the end of this week, at the latest Monday, if there is something wrong with your order Apple will notify you as soon as they can. Just because you see in your order status "Not Yet Shipped" does not mean there is something wrong with your order, what it does mean is that they have not been scanned, but trust me they have been shipped, once again I am talking only to the people who ordered their iPad when the shipping was 3-5 business days. FedEx and Apple are two of the greatest companies of All-Time, they are not perfect, but pretty dang close, they know what they are doing, just be patient, like I said you will have your new iPad 2 by the end of this week, at the latest Monday, no matter which model you ordered. Any questions you have I will try to answer.
I agree, i think they are on this flight. But Hong Kong airport website lists it going to Taipai before AnchorageMaybe it's wrong.
If it's going to alaska, it lands in a little over an hour !
I'm in the "not yet shipped and 3-5 business day" boat. So if your theory is true, then when will i get a track number and the option to pre-sign for it?
They have to be on this flight. The scan noting that the prize has left the ramp are just a few minutes before the departure time of this flight.

I have that it left the ramp at 16:30, after the listed 16:12 departure. Could this be do to delay in scanning or something else, meaning it is on that flight?
