Is the "Int'l Shipping Release" status what shows when it clears customs? If so several of us are in that status in Alaska currently.

I wonder if there should be separate threads for:

1. My iPad has shipped, let's track together!
and
2. Why the heck hasn't my iPad shipped yet?
 
Damn those guys. Mine didn't get out on the first flight even though I ordered within 2 minutes of release....

Shared pain

Ordered 32GB WiFi 3G black on March 11 1:47am, and still nothing.

No, I did receive my SmartCover, so I guess that is something. Still in iPad2 "Not yet shipped" hell and giving up hope for a March 18 delivery.:(

Is there a pattern emerging in terms of shipping, or is it just noise?

Every one of Apple's devices that has shipped to me from China has come in through Alaska. It's on the most direct route over the top. Or close enough. Must be huge air cargo facility.

These are the two direct flights that are in the air right now from HK to Memphis. If yours was in HK and hasnt updated in a while it might be on one of these two.

I think all those with tracking info. don't need to update those who have nothing shipped....in fact those with tracking info. should be banned from the site ASAP

Since this one says Received your iPad 2 shipping notice? Post here! im guessing you are just in the wrong thread not us who are currently shipped and tracking them.
 
So for the couple of us that are in SENNAN-SHI, which is Osaka, how is that going to get to the US? FedEx has a nonstop to Oakland from there. I guess it could go to Tokyo and then onwards to Alaska or Memphis. Just strange it went from HK to Taiwan then to Osaka.

Hopefully mine is going straight to Oakland....delivery first thing!

The cover has just been scheduled for delivery tomorrow. Can't wait to pretend like I have an iPad to put it on. I guess my wife will find out I ordered the new one. Or I could just pretend like it's a mistake. Till Thursday.

Yes, Anchorage International Airport (Technically the Ted Stevens Anchorage Int. Airport) is a large cargo facility.

Both FedEx and UPS have large sorting facilities here. Also, many other cargo carries stop in Anchorage for fuel (Air China, China Air, Cathy Pacific, Great Wall, Polar air, Atlas air, Evergreen Cargo, Korean Air, Kalitta Air Cargo, Asiana, etc...)

I believe we are listed as the third busiest cargo airport in the world. However, most of the cargo is just in transit to the U.S or to Asia.

As I mentioned in an earlier post I am about 2 miles from the FedEx Facility. It is an impressive facility to tour.

i don't understand how apple ships ipads. there is apparently no queue, and when you placed your order must not play any role in when it ships.

Yea i think it _is_ kinda strange. I have never seen anything I've ordered from Apple take that route before. But then, this is the first time I'm using the yahoo tracker page so maybe this is quite common and I just never noticed it. Anyway, my delivery estimate is still holding firm at 3/17 by 4:30 and I'm kinda hoping it will be Wednesday instead. But either way, I guess I'm a bit better off than others whose statuses are stuck at "Prepared for Shipment" or worse, "Not yet Shipped". Not to mention those random cancellations. That would have sucked. #blessed #thatisjustsilly :cool:

Both arrived in Alaska this morning, most recent update is both of them cleared Int'l shipment at 1:59pm. Original ETA was March 15th, now it states March 17th by 4:30pm.
