Mine didn't update with the Alaska time until less than an hour ago but the time in Alaska was the same as everyone else 10:33am.

Is it really that random? It seems like mostly 16 and 32gb wifi have been shipping and other models haven't.

They probably just made more of those first as those were the most ordered models being the cheapest.

I think the lesson they should learn is not to launch so many things at once. It was much smoother last time when it was just 3 wifi skus at launch, the the 3g a month or two later, then international launch a while after that.

They just don't have the production capability to launch 18 different skus in the US simultaneously, and launch internationally 2 weeks later without generating a huge shortage.

But maybe that was their goal as the shortage and lines generates a ton of free marketing. *shrugs*

Mine was ordered @ 12:40 AM..32 gig wifi....not shipped...that is just balls with all these other people showing delivery soon....

Yes it's very common for the release time to be wrong - both ways. You just have to check early and often and keep at it till you get there. With the iphone4 it was a total nightmare. I spent all day trying. Finally got through about 8 pm central and ordered 2 that they promised to ship in the first round. Then they cancelled one 2 days later for no apparent reason and we couldn't get back in the queue for almost 6 weeks. Too bad so sad.
 
On the FedEx small business tracking, is anyone's status simply "Package Status" What does this mean? Or, has anybody's status gone past "package status" (and if so, what was your next step we may expect?)

Yeah, that's weird. I don't think I've seen any other 16 or 32gb wifi people who ordered around that time who haven't shipped yet.

Maybe it has and just hasn't gotten scanned for some odd reason? Or there was some weird delay on your credit card being processed?

ibecarley - that is the life of an Apple fanatic. My wife laughs at me too but I think it's great fun. Even when it goes bad sometimes. Good luck to you. I hope yours shipped too.

I assume you've called Apple and/or your bank to make sure there were no payment issues? There have been very few cases where someone's unit didn't ship where there wasn't some payment authorization issue.

I ordered at 1:01AM PST. Our payment was declined, and I had to update it at around 6:00AM PST. My 64GB black wifi shipped, but the 64gb white wifi has not shipped yet. I'm wondering if they just ran out of white in the time it took me to update the payment info. I suppose that's possible. Unfortunate, but possible.

The reason why I mention calling your bank is that they may have a fraud hold on it. That's actually what happened to us, we just caught it quickly.

I agree I find that odd too. I would contact Apple just to make sure..

Mine just updated to international shipment release as well so things are moving in Alaska. Keep the faith.

Probably just a missed scan on one or a delay in it showing up. My tracking updates tend to post a couple hours after the can time when I've checked.

Mines still in Int'l Shipment Release.

Mine shows in transit too. I have had items from apple clear customs in memphis and alaska. So im guessing it doesnt have to clear customs in alaska and will be still be forwarded on to memphis to clear customs there if it didnt in alaska.
 
My smart covers showed up in Oregon, one state away, so I'm sure they'll be here tomorrow as estimated.

Funny thing. The FedEx site shows them in "Troutdale, OR", while the Yahoo FedEx link shows them in "Portland, OR."
