I just started watching "The Riches" a show about a family of gypsys who take over a rich families life. It has Minnie Driver and Eddie Izzard.

The good thing is that on Hulu right now they have all 2 seasons up to watch. So far it has been pretty funny. The show is normally on FX.

Another vote for Arrested Development...best show ever :D Gets a little stale in the third season, but that's only because Fox cut their episode order and eventually cancelled the show, and it suffered because of it.

Amazon has a great deal on all three seasons :)

I don't know if it's still availible, but I've alawys enjoyed the 1966/1967 seasons of the Avengers.

WOW.

Thanks for all the suggestions guys

so I narrowed list down to:
Torchwood- looks cool
Six Feet Under -
Entourage - heard good things
Flashforward - though I am skeptical of this one, Sawyers book was good...
Lost - I heard good thing about will try it

As for the other suggestions:

The Riches - I have seen , love Eddie Izzard.

X- Files I had my fill of while they were on TV - and I live where they were filmed.

Dexter - OK I will give it another try :)

Simpsons I have watched too much off.

Breaking Bad - have watched, is OK

Battlestar Galactica- i watch

Trailer Park Boys - ugh I cannot stand them , though in real life they are pretty cool people

Fringe- I never heard off:eek:

I don't have cable or satellite , so usually I watch off DVD or via my friends Slingbox

Lost is good - lots of seasons if you like it...

Fringe is good too - kind of like the X files if you like the science/monster type of thing. There is one season out now, and the second season is on TV.

I like the Sarah Conner Chronicles - but there were only two seasons of it...

How about the Stargate series - I liked Stargate Atlantis, and there were a number of seasons...

If you like the Josh Whedon shows (Angel and Buffy), and you like Sci-Fi then you might like FireFly, or Dollhouse (one season on DVD, and season two is wrapping up on TV).

Shows I like :
Lie to me
CSI
Angel
MASH
Buffy
House
Numb3rs
Battlestar Galactica
NCIS
Blood Ties
Dresden Files

Considering what you like...

If you like Buffy give Reaper or Supernatural a try www.cwtv.com/shows/supernatural I think they are on their 5th season now (So lots to watch if you like it). Fringe is also definitely worth checking out (X-Files meets CSI) its starts off a bit weak but gets better. You may also like True Blood created by Alan Ball (The same guy that did "Six Feet Under") and I have been watching old episodes of American Gothic. I have to admit I'm a Nip/Tuck watcher... If you like "House" (I do too) you may enjoy Grey's Anatomy although its more of a soap than House. Give Dexter a chance it really is excellent once you get into it.

Comedy:
Entourage is definitely worth watching as is Californication, also give My Name is Earl a try as well as Scrubs then there's How I met your Mother (Which may be too much like "Friends" for you) and there's Big Bang Theory. Then there are some mad ones like: Flight of the Concords and Testees.

Happy Viewing!

Broadcast in USA as "MI-5", on PBS.

Be careful reading the Wikipedia article, as it has spoilers, and part of the tension in the series is not knowing about "retirements".

Ooh yea, I'd forgotten about Spooks (I'm several seasons behind). Definitely a show worth watching.

Oh and as long as we're on the topic of British TV shows, if you just want to have fun watching people being silly and having fun with cars, watch some Top Gear. It's always fantastic.

Good call on Nowhere Man! I still need to finish my DVD set. I started a few years ago, but never finished up. I saw all of the original episodes when they aired, so I suppose no rush.

I'd actually recommend Legend of the Seeker. It's a fun syndicated show I recently discovered. I managed to watch the entire first season through Netflix, however it appears you can watch it through the official website as well.

I certainly wouldn't put it up there with quality in terms of other shows suggested, but I'd take it in a heartbeat over something like CSI. The characters are interesting and evolve. The show also got progressively better over the course of the first season.

The office
Chuck
Monk (Its off TV now but probably still on Hulu)
Parks and Recreation
Family Guy
Two and Half Men

I am a huge fan of CSI (even the two spin offs) and recently got into watching Criminal Minds, now I watch it whenever I can. It comes on CBS at 9 on Wednesday (before CSI New York) and they show reruns of it on A&T and ION all the time.

I love CSI Vegas. The other two suck much. Also, Hoarders on A&E is a great show too. I freakin love Overhaulin. My dream is to have my Dodge Ram Overhauled. :)

Also, Life After People in the Discovery Science channel is very interesting, as is everything else on that channel.

Also, I HATE the show Criminal Minds. Everything about that show is stupid and I swear every other word out of their lame mouths is "unsub". Stupid.

Throwing in some votes for Lost and Arrested Development, two of my all time favourite shows. I also really like Mad Men, although the first few episodes of its seasons could be a bit too slow moving for some.

ok I updated my list with these wonderful suggestions
now I need to beg borrow or steal these from friends and colleagues DVD collections.

thank you guys.
