yes because they cannot have third party apps. honestly exposing their api was a dumb idea in the first idea

I can’t believe you would misrepresent things so flagrantly - he has a guy who helps him with the server stuff sometimes - so it’s more like 1½ guys - nearly 50% more staff than you asserted!!1!
I can tire of the meme if it’s poorly applied, there are a lot of low-effort ones out there, but the author here did a really good job of fitting in a lot of relevant details.
It doesn’t really transfer over like that - if I can’t discuss single board computer projects in r/raspberrypi, I’m not going to just switch over to discussing gig-economy problems in r/doordash.
Tim Cook used similar language in an email where he addressed employees about the "vocal minority" (lol) that would be upset by that on-device CSAM detection garbage. Look how that turned out. This thickhead is also going to be in for a nice surprise.

The app works great on a phone - but your solution is to have the user throw $1000 at a new phone? Get real.

That’s entirely dependent on where you‘re looking (every heard the parable of the blind men and the elephant?). I’ve engaged in much lively discussion and level-headed exchange of information and wit with like-minded individuals on Reddit over the years. “Convoluted mess of posts” is a term I would apply to Twitter - Reddit’s big win over Twitter is precisely that it imposes some order - there are subreddits on different topics. Inside each subreddit, there are posts on different subtopics. Inside/under each post, there are comments. Rather than the jumbled rats nest of comments and replies that is Twitter.

Juli had some rough reporting on this one accusing CEO of lying, but I listened to Selig’s reasoning and audio. Selig defends language and threats as ‘joking’ and comes off pretty poorly himself.
When you're that big of a tool, you are generally blinded by your own hubris. I'm not surprised at all that Reddit has this kind of CEO at the helm.
Hope there will be some changes in the future due to all the protests.

It did not work on edge in windows 11. Had to use safari on my Mac.
Reddit moderators are among the lowest scum on the planet earth. Anything that upsets them is likely a very good thing.
Why do people care? If you agree using their app, use it. If not, feel free to leave Reddit / use web. I don't get that "protesting" aka "blackmailing" stuff.... smh
Most apple related subs im subscribed to are hardly active. But yes, if any of the ones i frequent stay off, im going to look for alternatives.
I dont care for apolloe or any app. I only use website versions for anything that has a website version.
