When you can sell tons of watchbands for a such a high mark up, you are probably going to focus on that. It's probably more profitable than the watch itself. Go for the easy money, Apple TV is a harder sell.

Not for me, the new Apple TV is an easier sell because I can more afford it. LOL. Plus I'd rather do things with apps on the new Apple TV on my 40 inch TV than a 1 inch squared screen watch.

Well this sucks. (if true) Then again, we'll probably have new reports tomorrow that indeed they will be showing off a new apple tv

You are misunderstanding the meaning of the word 'computer'. Yeah phones, TVs, and watches have computer-like functionality in them, so does almost every other consumer electronics device out there now. So when someone uses the word computer should I be thinking refrigerator? So actually the meaning of computer has not changed (you should take an English course - I used to teach it). The iMac is a computer. The iPhone is not a computer. I am a developer and on a computer I code apps. I don't code apps on an iPhone or on an Apple TV. (But I do admit that the lines are being crossed as you can code on iPads and iPhones.) I'd just like Apple to concentrate on Macs, iPhones, and iPads, but not spread themselves too thin with watches and TVs. They are starting to be like Sony with every conceivable product and I consider that the reason for Sony's downfall. spreading themselves to thin and becoming a jack of all trades and a master of none.

Are they really spreading themselves too thin? I don't think so. They are just doing what they have to do to stay in front. If they don't create the complete connected ecosystem of devices someone else will, then Apple will fall behind.
By the way, I just love it when people who code, or teach English, or whatever else, feel like they are smarter than Tim Cook and company. Keep telling us everything they are doing wrong, because clearly they are struggling to survive.

You have to excuse them. They were busy making exclusive pink plastic watch bands for Pharrell Williams' gold $17000 watch.

haha! That is exactly what I mean about Apple losing their focus an no longer being a great 'Computer' company. And I wish they'd drop TVs too.

Man you really are having trouble understanding English, aren't you? And putting words in my mouth. I didn't say Apple wasn't a great company. I just feel it is slowly losing its right to be considered a great 'COMPUTER' company. Read this: http://www.macworld.com/article/1054770/applename.html (And even Steve agreed with me on what is and what isn't a 'computer'.)

Apple can't win can they?? If they did unveil a new Apple TV at WWDC and it had major issues, people would complain.

Now that its been delayed, people still complain!!

This doesn't bother me anyway. I'm looking forward to iOS 9 and OS X 10.11. That does it for me.

I don't think people are complaining, just expressing disappointment. iOS 9 is mostly supposed to be just a stability update this time, plus we never get the new iOS till September. So you're going to be waiting for it a lot longer than just next week. Hope you're not disappointed, no complaining allowed.

Don't waste your time. Many people posting negatively towards Apple here are planted to do so, in order to shake things up and purposely annoy the "Apple Faithful". Any sane person would just say, "Since WWDC is in just a few days I'd rather wait and have Apple officially confirm that than believe a rumor".
Any others that aren't planted here tend to be the same old people that always look for a reason to be angry at Apple. Sad for them really.

Speak for yourself Henry. This is the "New Apple", and it's growing to large too fast. Others make deals with Service Providers. Apple simply believes they should be treated like a Monarchy these days. Well, sorry, they blew this themselves due to high margins, and the inability to produce for the average Apple Base. Keep drinking the Kool Aid Hank. The Beats acquisition was the beginning of the problems. Apple is all too comfortable these days buying their way into a market. Once there, they can't figure it out. The most blaring example is Apple's inability to develop "The Cloud." Competitors are miles ahead of Apple. The future is between Google and Apple for the control of your ecosystem. Apple could be doing a much better job. The responsibility starts at the top. :apple:

Yeah and I've just taken a screenshot of your post, ready to repost it after the showcasing of the Apple TV at WWDC. Y'all believe rumors knowing the show is in just a few days. People in their right mind wouldn't have such knee-jerk reactions as many have posted here. But please go on. I'm enjoying every entertaining post. Nobody has spent a dime of money so nobody lost money in regards to Apple so the anger is completely ridiculous. Do people have a life to put forth such seriousness to instead of a tech company? :p

And please don't disrespect me about the koolaid insult and calling me Hank sir.

At this point I'd honestly be happy if they'd at least update the existing Apple TV with a new processor and 4K support. That would at least be something.

So what you're saying is that Apple has absolutely nothing to show at WWDC?

Wanna know why the apple tv isn't being shown? Because it's going to be renamed to the homekit.

Despite early rumors suggesting Apple would introduce a redesigned Apple TV set-top box at its Worldwide Developers Conference in June, it appears the device will not be ready to debut at that time. In a report covering what to expect at WWDC, The New York Times' Brian X. Chen writes that Apple has postponed its plans because the product is "not ready for prime time."Apple has not introduced a revamped version of its Apple TV since 2012, leading to years of rumors and speculation about the company's plans for the device. Since 2013, nearly every Apple event has been targeted as the venue where we'll see a new version of the Apple TV, but no product has materialized as of yet.

According to the most recent rumors, Apple is currently working on a new version of the Apple TV that will include ambitious additions like a full App Store that supports apps and games, Siri support, and an SDK for developers. It is also said to include an A8 chip, an increase in internal storage, and a touch-based remote.

There is no word on when the Apple TV might debut, but it's possible that it could be introduced later this year alongside Apple's rumored subscription television service. Apple was said to be targeting a WWDC launch for its TV service, but those plans were also delayed as the necessary deals are not yet in place.

With its subscription television service and set-top box off the table for the Worldwide Developers Conference, the event will focus on iOS 9, OS X 10.11, and the company's new Beats-based streaming music service. The Apple Watch will also be a major focus, with Apple planning to debut native Apple Watch apps as shared by Jeff Williams last week.

Update: Re/code is also reporting that the Apple TV will not be introduced at WWDC.

Sure thing Henry. Nice job on the "quote." :apple:

Why can't they just silently update the hardware, then give us the new software when it's ready? This way those of us waiting on the update to buy an additional Apple TV can just buy it and avoid buying three year old tech.

Ouch, feel sorry for those who were excited to see it on Monday. But hey, more time for polishing the hardware, software and services.

Normally I'd agree that focussing on software is a good thing, but not when it's because you have nothing better to show. It sounds like the OS X and iOS updates are going to be under the hood stuff anyway.

Am I the only one here who could care less about Apple's music plans? I have my doubts that Tim and the Beats crew have come up with anything other than a Spotify clone.

Since you taught English, I'm sure you're familiar with the definition of an electronic computer:

"an electronic device for storing and processing data, typically in binary form, according to instructions given to it in a variable program."

I don't see how the iPhone ISN'T a computer. Even if you don't take a dictionary definition, I can write papers on an iPhone (and print them wirelessly), take and edit and share photos, play games, use it as a calculator, balance my checkbook on it, surf the web, have it save my logins and passwords, etc. It's not a desktop computer, it's not a laptop, it's a truly mobile computer. The mobile element of it might mean that it can't replicate every task that a desktop or laptop computer could, but you're arbitrarily cutting off the iPhone from being a computer solely to make the point that Apple is failing at being a great computer company.

I'm sure there were things that the Apple II couldn't do that IBM mainframes could do when the Apple II was released, but I doubt you'd see anyone make the argument that the Apple II wasn't a computer.

Let's keep our fingers crossed this rumor is not true! I too am soooo looking forward and to a native Plex app!!!!

CNET's WWDC Live Blog announcement posted today talks all about the AppleTV announcement. Funny how a bonafide tech review site mentions nothing about the absence of the forthcoming AppleTV as this RUMOR site does. ;)

Thank god for Amazon TV. At least we developers have something to do this year. The iWatch is a pretty pitiful consolation prize.

It sure will according to you, since you seem to believe everything you read. ;)

Rumors about Apples products and software leaks have been pretty accurate since Steve Jobs has died. Every since Cook took over, it seems Apple can't keep anything a secret any more. Past couple years, most of the rumors about previous iPhone features and specs have been true. Bigger screen, thinner, processor type, amount of RAM, technology of the camera, new connector type, exact size. I knew all there was to know about the iPhone 6 and + before Apple officially announced it at their own event. And I learned it all from MacRumors website and forums. So why wouldn't I believe this news?

No reason not to believe this post but I don't remember much being leaked about the new Mac Pro or the 5k iMac.

Really hope this is not true. I've 3 Apple TV's and it's time... If Siri is gonna be a big part - let's hope Apple is taking notice of Amazon's Echo. Got one a few weeks ago and the recognition is nothing short of amazing. Siri's more capabilities at this point, but no where near the voice recognition. It is astounding and my entire family loves the Echo. Wish it were an Apple product....

If true, this is a major disappointment. I've been waiting a long time for the new hardware and had rearranged my schedule on Monday to watch the Keynote. If you can't deliver new hardware, how about cleaning up the interface and giving has the ability to create folders to get control of the mess you've created? Total BS Apple!
