So there is really nothing about WWDC this year to even care about. They may show iOS9, but we won't get that till fall when the new phones come out. No new Apple TV, no Apple TV subscription service either. The only thing left is Apples new music service, but I don't care about that because I subscribe to Slacker Radio.

So again, this years WWDC is going to suck!
Listen sir, This is NOT Macworld. It's a conference for Developers. Apple in the past has shown new hardware because they generally have a new OS for the Developers to optimize their applications to.
I would love a new Apple TV as much as others here but I would rather see what new types of software apps for my Mac and iPhone are coming out from aspiring Developers rather than act like I'm going to kill myself and Apple for not putting a new little iToy.

If anything the conference is going to be about what it suppose to be about, SOFTWARE. If you can't handle that then stop complaining over and over and go buy a Roku.

What an huge screw-up. The Apple TV was obviously supposed to be the focus of the event, and now nothing about it. The licensing issues with the streaming service is understandable -- that was always going to be hugely problematic because of the local affiliate issue. But the hardware and the app store not being ready? WTF?

Does yours really work? Every time I pause when I type something it duplicates it. So instead of "nostalgia critic" I get "nostalgnostalg". Does it with my old iPhone 5, new iPhone 6+, and the lady's iPhone 6. The remote app hasn't worked for me in a long time.

not once have i ever seen that.... I primarily use my 6Plus, then my iPad Mini 3 comes after that. If I'm binge watching Arrested development or Futurama, i just use the little aluminum remote..... I should note that my entire ecosystem is Apple though (Time Capsule router)

It doesn't really matter to me I will just switch off to another device with a better user experience. I think three years is ample time to get something cobbled together. The UI is too busy and it really isn't that great a user experience as even compared to my Xbox One which I tend to watch things like Netflix on more often these days. Really the only thing I use it for anymore is Podcasts.

All they are doing with this move is losing sales to the competition.

Netflix on the Xbox One is horrendous. It barely remembers my progress in a show and it quits on me and has to restart every time I take my Xbox out of sleep.

Well I mean they've only had three years. This is just embarrassing for Apple at this point - there are core features that everyone wants that Apple could have implemented years ago.

Yeah, I doubt it's a common issue, but it happens every time I try and use the Remote App. Everything I have is Apple too (AirPort Extreme).

"Ambitious plans" At this point Apple is playing catch up by including an app store and offering more interactive content and games and voice search. Might be ambitious for Apple, but others have already knocked it out of the parck.

It's even worse on the PS4. During a Netflix movie a notification pops up interrupting the movie stating my controller has been disconnected and is going to sleep. If I change settings so the controller doesn't go to sleep then the blue light bar on the controller remains on during the entire movie which is very distracting in a darker movie-style setup in my living room. This also drains the battery unless I plug the "wireless controller" into the PS4 the whole time. These gaming systems are not made for apps.

i already bought two chromecasts (hate them) and a Fire TV Stick (love it) by now. all i am asking for is a UI overhall on my Apple TV doesnt even need to be a new box.

Apple is really late to the whole streaming partaay

Apple TV's been out for eight years... and about five years in its current form.

Apple won't be showing the Apple TV because they will be showing the "Apple Hub" which has the function of an Apple TV, Native Apps, Homekit, built in iTunes Server with internal storage, and functions as a WiFi router/Time Machine.

It's a pipedream but at least it's a dream.

This....:apple:Hub

AppleTV rumors included AppStore, updated IDE to support AppleTV API, and new controller API. Potentially new SIRI and HomeKit API for AppleTV.

It would be a huge SOFTWARE expansion and new marketplace for DEVELOPERS.

The itunes server bit would sure take some load off their cloud servers, hehe

Apple. You've had this "hobby" now for a while. You enter the wearables market with the Watch, but still can't seem to give us a new TV. Since 2012 is the last time we received an upgrade. SINCE 2012!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
God I hope this rumor is untrue!

...and he's saying your comment is inaccurate because Apple started the streaming game 8 years ago (Macworld Expo 2007) , therefore they aren't late... to a party that they started.

Wasn't XBMC released in 2002 for streaming from an XBox? I'm sure there were others before Macworld 2007 too.

*late to the streaming as we know it today party.

But you're not not willing to wait and see what they show on Monday huh? You've already decided that this news on a RUMOR SITE is true. Go ahead, be disappointed.

No, I'm not disappointed. I just don't care. I always take rumors posted for what it is...a rumor (see my earlier post on how the media got swept up in the :apple:TV rumors then suffered a case of "foot in mouth" syndrome). The only thing the news of the :apple:TV and TV streaming service did was give me something to look forward to watching at the keynote and make the keynote something interesting to watch. Now, I don't care to watch the keynote. I'll just catch the highlights here or at one of the other Apple/Tech blogs since now it will be about OS maintenance updates and the streaming music service, which I'm not as interested in.

Just adding my voice to the mob that's annoyed with Apple recently - on the apple TV an it's embarrassing UI, to other aspects like the soldering in ram trend.

I will actually be paying attention to the Woidowes 10 release as a result.

Yes, I definitely think this is what happened. It's the media getting it's foot stuck in it's mouth...again.
Just clickbait that every "news" website links to. Welcome to the internet of 2015. By the replies here many swallowed the bait.
