I order a refurb 15 rMBP yesterday, should have on Saturday. How do I find what screen manufacturer I have? I will check for image retention.

Well.. forget about them selling out in a couple of days. When I first saw these on the Apple site last Friday, there were about 150 for sale (you can see how many are available on www.refurb.me). This morning that number was down to 67. I just checked again and it's up to 258! They must have a lot of these to sell.

The large quantity and the delay in getting them to the refurbished site makes me wonder if these did go through some extra refurbishing.

Agreed! I'm amazed at how many of the base units they have... But then again, there hasn't been a listing for a 2.3/16/256 model, which seems weird considering how we know from this thread alone that there were a number of those models returned. (Perhaps some 16GB ones are lumped into the base listing?)

I have two rMBP's being delivered tomorrow. (One will be returned--purchased before the 2.6/16/512 model became available.) I'll let everyone know about what I find regarding the screen. I'm keeping my fingers crossed, given the considerable time for these to hit the refurb store, they've been given LSN screens.

So, what were they?

I just picked up a base refurb rMBP last night (ship to store) and am happy to report it is a Samsung panel.

To check for panel manufacturer you need to enter a command in Terminal. It's easy to find with a Google search.
