Or a simple reason: nothing big needs to be fixed. You want big UI changes? Jailbreak, then add all the ugly themes you want.

I managed to make my Mac OS X look different from the rest using a lot of mods/tweaks. It looked terrible.
dont sync. Drag your music folder in iTunes onto your idevice. then when your at another computer, drag a song.
In that case, pony up the 25 bucks a year for itunes match and forget about the problem?
That only works if I have manual management on, and to enable that, itunes wants to erase my on phone library first...
----------
I do not want to have my itune libraries synced! My desktop has a lot of space and a lot of music, I don't want all those gigs of music on my laptop! I just want to add 1 song to my phone.
If your solution is pay 25bucks a year and have a ton of music on your laptop that you don't want otherwise, I believe we are way past "easy".
haha I didn't think I was making much sense when I wrote it :/
But my understanding has always been (and is especially true upon using my mum's iPad 1) that the iPhone 3gs and iPad 1 shared very similar internals (cpu, gpu, ram etc) and the iPad had a much higher resolution screen (1024x768) vs the iPhone 3gs (480x320) thus the iPad one now feels much more sluggish and less slick when scrolling around the UI and in apps (due to the higher res screen needing much more from the gpu).
The iPad was an underpowered machine from the beginning. They definitely fixed it with the iPad 2 though.

Music: I don´t use the built in music app (because I want to be free of itunes)
Instead I use Google Music which is a free service (20 000 songs). I uploaded all my music to Google Music from my desktop computer which is always syncing till Google music. When i download a new song, it uploads the song to google music. So i use an google music app on iOS called "Melodies". In this app I can access my entire music library and stream it. If I want to save songs locally on my iPhone I can choose which song/songs I want to save just by clicking a button to save it. When I want to change songs or add a song I just start the app and "unmark" the song I want to change and choose another to save localy. This is by far the best sollution I´ve done for myself to never see itunes again.
That sounds so much easier than using iTunes.![]()
It's supereasy!
If you don't live in the U.S. You have to use a workaround the first time you register for the service.
Here is a guide I used:

Why should you pay for iTunes match when you can use google music for free?
Why should you pay for iTunes match when you can use google music for free?
iTunes Match is free....
With iTunes Match, all your music — even songs you’ve imported from CDs — can be stored in iCloud. So you can access your music from all your devices and listen to your entire library, wherever you are.
Subscribe for just $24.99 a year

dont pay. just use manual management. Also, that doesnt work for someone who has a ipod or ipad wifi or who doesnt have unlimited internet
I had probably 20 or more CD's that were imported into iTunes that skipped, Now I got to re-download the new AAC files from iTunes match. 20 CD's x around $10 each = $200. iTunes Match $24.99.
$24.99 / 12 Months = $2.08 a month, i spend more money that that a day on home made coffee.
The skipping files would still skip if streamed from Google because you are uploading a bad file.
Really????.. Maybe you should tell apple..

It's many things... but SUPEREASY is not one of them...

I totaly agree with you! I am a big apple fan, BUT iTunes is the worst thing happend to mankind! Over the years I have bit by bit successfully managed to free myself from iTunes. I still own and use an iphone! Here is what I did:
Movies: I use goodplayer as the videoplayer in iOS (transfer movies over WIFI, SMB, WebDav, Upnp and alot more...). For streaming I use air video, the best streaming app on iOS IMHO.
Music: I don´t use the built in music app (because I want to be free of itunes)

Of course there are benefits in both google music and itunes match, but the "issue" here is iTunes and the situation where you want to add a song from another computer if your "primary" computer is not accessable at the moment.
Itunes match is an alternative if:
* you want to pay $25 a year
* the service is offered in your country (I don´t know any workarounds)
Or you can choose Google music:
* for free
* There are workarounds if you live outside U.S.
Skipping files is indeed a "problem". I myself can´t upload 75 songs out of my 12 000 songs that got uploaded. Still I can live with that, but maybe that´s just me. Also...I hate AAC because it doesn´t work everywhere. So for me it´s not an advantage to be able to redownload the songs in AAC. But better to be able to listen to it than not i guess...

What is not easy with google music?
putting apps ANYWHERE on the screen
I'm in the US and I have used both services. My take, for day to day listening, iTunes Match is the clear winner. It always works and starts quickly. I can't say the same for Google Music. And $25/year is nothing. That's $2.08/month for something that works so well I forget most of my music isn't on my iPhone. What is not easy? Well the work arounds if your outside of the USA are painful, and you've already highlighted issue of skipping tracks. Many things, but easy is stretching it...
The work arounds are hardly simple.
Paying €20 to Apple is much simpler.
I've been using iOS 6 for a while and while it's really just a refinement (makes the solid iOS 5 status bar look ancient) there are definitely features I use multiple times a day like Share Sheets (as useful as the inclusion of copy & paste years ago), updating apps not requiring a password or kicking you out to the home screen, the new Maps navigation (love the simplicity, I realize some may have a dedicated app), and a major life changer, Do Not Disturb, which is great because the phone no longer wakes my wife up when it buzzes at night.

I am not saying that is easy to use the workarounds, but saying it is easy to use the google music service.
Paying for iTunes match is simpler but what if the service is not offered in your country? Then what? Not the entire world live in U.S
Yes but iTunes match service is offered in far more countries than google music...
I'm in Ireland. No google music either. However we do have iTunes match.
Besides with iTunes match you can you not simply create an American account, top it up with an iTunes gift card and buy iTunes match that way.
