stop acting like a baby. Musclenerd or anyone in the jb scene does not owe you or anyone anything and stop acting like you're entitled to their work.
You put yourself in the situation with a locked phone you figure it out instead of crying about how they didnt provide you with a free unlock when you wanted it.

+1

Just payed $164.50 for my unlock with Negri. Order submitted about 2mins ago. Lets see what happens now....

I placed the order item in the wish list option, then i went to wish list and choose the add to cart option. It allowed me to placed the order.
Here is my Negri Account info.

Any of the guys trying this, please post your experiences. I'm thinking about it but $175 is a lot of money.

If it does work, I'd probably be updating using custom IPSW files for a while to be safe.

How come your grand total is less than the subtotal?

Used a 10.00 discount coupon code. it showed up on my Google invoice but not on the Negir account site. Checked online with my credit card. Google has a hold for $164.50 and $1.00.

Called Negri to confirm my order and asked them the same thing about the grand total. They have it and were "surprised" that it went through.

They told me to wait for an e-mail asking me for my IMEI number. Said that they will get back to me in 24-48hrs.

Lets see what happens..

P.S. Here is the coupon code that i used; sb10offgft

hope it helps

As of 4:20pm MST 4/12/11 their site says:

Unlocking Service for Any Apple iPhone (Permanent)
UPDATE 9:25AM PST 4/12/2011: We have discontinued the service due to the amount of submissions. Once all IMEI's are processed we will continue to offer the service. All orders placed prior to this update will be processed and you will be notified in 24-48 hours when your device is unlocked.

AND, recently added:
(NEW) FIRMWARE UPGRADES/DOWNGRADES: Negri Electronics is not responsible for any issues related with upgrading or downgrading your operating system or firmware. These devices, once altered, do not carry a warranty and can not be exchanged or subject to refund. These actions taken to upgrade or downgrade or alter your devices system in any way are always "at your own risk". This includes but not limited to all hacked roms, OTA updates, official updates or modifications of any other kind. We can attempt to repair these devices for you, but they will be subject to additional costs such as parts, labor and shipping. Please request a "Repair Form" if you wish to have a repair technician evaluate and possibly repair your altered device.

I think they are just throwing out a legal disclosure, like Apple or at&t does ("if you jailbreak, you break the warranty, ect") so they're probably trying to protect themselves in case, if by chance of Apple or at&t the iPhone re-lock themselves.

Truthfully, I would feel very sorry after paying nearly $200 for my iPhone4 to become re-lock again. I'll monitor this thread and wait from an official announcement like from the WSJ or some tetchy site that will confirm that Apple and/or at&t acknowledge that once these devices have been "unlocked", they will not ever become lock again, not even if we JB them, or downgrade or upgrade baselines or iOS versions, given the fact that once unlocked there will be few reasons why should we downgrade a baseline, since the unthedered JB process should work fine, thanks to our JB engineers.

So it is just a general disclaimer by the company in all unlock purchases. See.

I can confirm this works. I have a friend who just got his confirmation, and his phone is indeed unlocked. I'm going to be waiting a couple days before trying it out myself though.

I think once unlocked, if you make sure to perform future updates using only custom IPSW files, the risk of a re-lock would be minimal no? Please feel free to correct me on this. Also, I'm not sure how Apple can even identify, or whether they would even bother to identify the IMEI's on their database. There are tons of unlocked iPhones sold every day around the world. I'm sure there's a way, but I'm wondering whether they'll actually bother.

Honestly, I hope this works out... If somebody unlocks and still adheres to their 2-year contract, I don't see what the problem is. Surely very few people actually pay AT&T's outrageous roaming fees to use their iPhone overseas. For example, I have an AT&T locked iPhone, and if I travel, I'll just buy a pay-as-you-go sim from my destination and use it with an old phone of mine. I use my i4 as just an iPod during that time.

Try this....

Make sure you use 'backup activation' in SAM to ensure you avoid getting relocked in the future (this is according to Musclenerd)

http://twitter.com/#!/sbingner/status/57622810171932673

Install SAM by doing this:

Add http://repo.bingner.com as a repo in Cydia

Install “SAM” and “SAMPrefs”

Under settings there should be the 'backup activation' option

This is from one of the forum member suggestion, it should helps in the future.

1. My main concern is what happens when I have to take it to a Genius to have it replaced?

2. Say, I'm willing to get a locked replacement, will they give me one or deny me due to voided warranty?

Alot of good questions and concerns on this thread.
I'd be very cautious, the amount of money they're charging for this is not pocket change.
And if various sites offer it and and decide to rip off people they could make tons of money and dissapear.
Not sure what ones are legit or not or if this "hole" will be patched and unlocked IMEI's reversed.
Who knows.....

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_3_1 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/533.17.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.0.2 Mobile/8G4 Safari/6533.18.5)

Honestly I think the whole story behind this is that there's an angry Apple employee with access to Apples databases. It is very, very likely that these websites will disappear once Apple finds out who the person is. Not really sure if they care enough/or can actually track down these added IMEIs. Either way even if they decide to relock them, you can backup your activation if you have jailbroken phone using SAM, so if Apple really goes nuts and relocks your phone, you'll still be able to unlock it yourself. So meh, yeah this will work as long as the SAM servers are up and there's nothing Apple can do about it :)

1. Yeah I'm also kinda of wondering if that voids your warranty or whatever. I don't think it would since it's "official" through iTunes and whatnot, but this is a relatively new process so I guess we'll have to wait and see what happens.

2. Who knows, I'm gonna bank on and say that your warranty is not voided, but we have yet to see.

3. I wonder if in Canada (where I live and you can purchase factory unlocked straight from Apple) if for some reason my $164 unlocked phone breaks (from a defect in the product, not me breaking it), and I take it back to Apple, if they'll recognize it as a factory unlocked model and straight up replace it with a new factory unlocked model and simply not notice that it's not one (I don't see how there could be any cosmetic differences)? Or will I be SOL?

I just put my order in from The Unlocker Shop, I'm crossing my fingers I'll get my iPhone 4 unlock soon so I can switch to Tmobile soon :)

As I know, in Europe if your iPhone is unlocked(if you bought it directly from Apple) or a carrier unlocks it for you, the replacement you get is reflective of your current phone's lock status. i.e. if your phone is unlocked, your replacement will be unlocked.

Not sure about this method though.
