Thickness will be restrained by camera won't it?

Apple could let the camera protrude as they have done with the 5th gen iPod Touch. The harder limit would be the 3.5" headphone adapter but in the long run even that might not be safe given it's Apple.

I know many dislike the perpetual march toward thinner devices but Apple always would want to make a device that makes the older generation feel old and outdated. Making something thinner with less bezel is the sure way to achieve that goal, especially in person. Also in practical terms it means there's more room for a battery case as well.

How do they fit under the headline "news and rumors you care about"? :-/

Really? technology is supposed to get better, not smaller.

Without miniaturization we would now not have smartphones and computers. Processors get faster because there are more transistors per square inch. Al this is possible through miniaturization and in that sense smaller is better.

What you are referring to is that Apple tends to make their products ever smaller. What Apple has recognized (and Samsung far before Apple) is that there is both a market for small and larger phones.

I don't understand why people require Apple to make just one size. They have been quite successful with their MacBook tier structure and considering the current market, all signs point in the direction that a differentiated iphone portfolio will be profitable.

the bezel on the 5 is still oversized and the edges are still sharp, not sure your point

So? You said making the bezel smaller means making it look different, guess what? The 5 has less bezel, the 5 is thinner, the back looks different. If your telling me making the corners slightly more round means a different design but that doesn't then your are just complaining for the sake of it.

Apple is supposed to lead, not cave to the consumer cattle like every other tech manufacturer. Yes yes...you gotta do that to some extent (gold? really?) but I want a SMALLER iPhone. My eyes work, and If i wanted a phablet I'd just get a damn tablet. Technology is supposed to get smaller and smaller, it's why we're experimenting with wearables.
Also, quit bitching about battery life. I use my phone from when I wake to when I go to bed and plug it in with about 20 to 30 % left. Texting, Fbook, twitter, GPS, email, phone calls, Spotify during every commute over bluetooth and often music not cached offline, etc etc. Yes I've done all the "tweaks", so you could argue that you "shouldn't have to" do that out of the box, that's fair, but most people who aren't getting a full day are doing something a little unreasonable (however necessary) and should expect to have to compromise.

Once again, a post that thinks their needs for a device are all that matters.

If this is truly the design, I don't see Apple using glass for the rear panel. I think it will be either glass & aluminum mix (like the iPhone 5) or all aluminum. We'll see though.

the phone as virtually looked the same since the iphone 4

The funny thing is, The iPhone 4 industrial design is completely different from the iPhone 5 and Apple changed the construction of their flagship phone arguably more than almost anyone else, especially Samsung. But people harp on the general shape instead.

The round edges are stupid. There are way to many functions of the iPhone that utilize the right angle edges and flat back of the iPhone. The round edges also make the unit much more bendable (I don't care what it's made of).
As shown in the illustration; that thing would fold when you sat on it in your back pocket.
(That is, of course, if it will still fit in your back pocket) ;)
