Do not even try round angle on phone-sized device.

It is super ugly...

That is one of the reasons why Samsung sucks.

Why do only iPhone sized devices look ugly with rounded edges? What about iPads? Makes no sense.

This thing looks awesome, although a bit too thin. Back glass needs to make a comeback.

i just dont know what to think anymore, this is diff but still the same basic model (TO ME), im sure in hand its better. maybe new colors because the 5c colors are awful in my opinion. im going to buy it anyway lol....im ready for the new specs for the most part...

One could argue that even if these renderings are fake, they are indicative of the public mindset desiring such a device. A hypothetical drop in stock price would be a result of "not giving the consumer what they want" in this scenario.

My point is that analysts buy based on rumors and unconfirmed "leaks" and sell on reality. That

Don't worry they are close to as thin as the headphone port will allow. They have maybe 1 or 2mm max left to shave off. And I can't see them going proprietary for the headphone port.

It doesn't have to be proprietary. Phones (especially cordless) had standardized on 2.5mm jacks from the 1990s until the iPhone came out - and with it the return of 3.5mm.

At some point in the near future, the headphone jack will have to either change or disappear.

I think everybody will use bluetooth headphones. And I guess everything will be cable-free, wireless charging (no, not that ''fake'' wireless charging used on Android phones), wireless headphones, etc. Just like iMac

The round edges are stupid. There are way to many functions of the iPhone that utilize the right angle edges and flat back of the iPhone. The round edges also make the unit much more bendable (I don't care what it's made of).
As shown in the illustration; that thing would fold when you sat on it in your back pocket.
(That is, of course, if it will still fit in your back pocket) ;)

1. Why would anyone put their phone in their back pocket and sit on it?
2. The average back pocket size is probably a about twice the width as even the bigger smartphones. Believe it or not the iPhone 5S dimensions aren't the maximum allowed to fit into pockets.

I think I'm the only one who finds the iPhone5S already too thin. I really liked the feel of the 3GS. Nice curved back. Nice weight. Oh well.

I hope they keep the physical silent/ringer switch forever. There's absolutely no subtitute for being able to reach into your pocket and silence your phone immediately without looking at it.

I don't see the true tone flash on the back though. Would Apple abandon that after only one year? Makes me wonder if this isn't an iPod touch. iPods weren't updated last year. Perhaps the rumored 5"+ phone will actually be a new iPod touch?

Weren't iPods updated just before the latest iPhone? But, yeah the flash does seem to be off, however at this point the images we are seeing are less than detailed. Perhaps the technology for the flash has taken a step forward to becoming cheaper/more compact.

Bluetooth headphones and wireless charging. I'm sure we'll get there at some point but probably a ways off yet.

If Apple bought JayBird and included bluetooth headphones with the 6 that would be most excellent.

Keeping in mind that these are just renderings, such a design would explain all those furnaces in Mesa, about to produce large quantities of sapphire. A glass back (and front) that won't scratch, and is thus less likely to break, in addition to unimpeded signals from the antennae? I can see why Apple might want to go forward again with a classic 4/4S-like double sided glass enclosure.

These Martin Hajek designs are an interesting take on what could be possible; such almost credit card-like designs might please those who prefer a softly rounded 5C-like feel in the hand, rather than the sharp angular feel of the 5S.

It remains to be seen what will finally hit the market. Quite possibly the first product developed entirely on Cook's watch.

For some reason I feel like Apple wouldn't so easily ditch a sharp edge for a curved one.

I personally think that they would switch to a curved design. The iPhone 2G-3GS were all curved and they went to sharp edges, so why not go back to curved edges?

----------

I would buy an iPhone designed like this in a heartbeat.
