Great. now more people will take pics with a foot wide iPad at concerts blocking my view.
I know!! I watched a guy block people’s view with his phone at a show while he FaceTimed. World has gone to feces.

A new iPad model just as sad of an upgrade as the last two iPhone revisions. No reason to buy anymore unless yours is ancient, lost, or broken.

Nobody wants to try out anything related to AR & have plenty of horsepower to enable it?
Bold statement.

Im still waiting to see what’s so special about AR. Apple has hyped it up over the past few years and aside from some nifty (but useless) demos during the keynotes, I fail to see an actual benefit. I’m not going to be building anything using the measure app, a tape measure or dedicated measuring instrument is much more accurate.

I doubt it will have the triple camera set up in the rear...the most will be dual set up. Apple has had the dual rear camera since iPhone 7 Plus (September 2016) they had enough time to try to implement the dual camera system when the 2nd gen iPad Pro came out in November 2018.

We've also heard that in late 2019, Apple could be planning to release a 12.9-inch iPad Pro with a mini-LED display, so it's not clear if Apple will release two iPad Pro updates in 2019 or if the early 2020 release timeline includes just the 11-inch iPad Pro model.
I don’t see any reason why Apple would want to release an 11” model early in 2020 with another A12X. That wouldn’t be much of an update.

It makes more sense that both the 11 and 12.9” will be released in late 2020, with A14X (with no earlier 2020 release). 5G would be a nice bonus :)

@jclo, there are a couple of 2019 refs that should be 2020

I say negative things about Apple when it's appropriate and it's backed up by facts. In this instance, that's not appropriate because the data says otherwise.

iPad revenue has increased appreciably from $18.3B in 2018 to $21.3B in 2019.

In the most recent 10K, Apple even makes a specific note about why iPad revenue increased:

"iPad net sales increased during 2019 compared to 2018 due primarily to higher net sales of iPad Pro." Source: 10K

So, we've heard it from the source itself. If this isn't good enough for you, this is going to be a short conversation.
That’s total iPad sales. Where is the specific pro numbers? I’d like to see the smash hit numbers.

Every post of yours that I’ve read is nothing but blind gushing over anything apple. Your signature looks like it was written by Apple's PR department.

yup. i’m definitely waiting mostly due to the design flaw of the current ipad pro bending. hilarious, right?
Outside of techtuber clickbait, that’s not a thing. It’s best to ignore any YouTube video where the thumbnail is some guy making a dumb face and doing some weird pose with his hands.

Apple doesn’t give unit sales. It’s a $3 billion increase year over year, due primarily to iPad Pro; you do the math.

btw posts with accurate data that upset some who don’t like to see anything positive about Apple is not the same as “blind gushing”.

The most noticiable thing about the renders is that it has a stainless steel frame, and I haven’t seen anything about that.
If it also comes with a glass back, I wouldn’t call this “almost identical” at all, as MacRumors says.

And, as usual, people are blind and can’t see the potential of the cameras in the iPad. Over and over again, the same lack of vision.

btw, blind gushing is only saying positive things about Apple, regardless of subject. There's certain members on here who will never say a single negative thing about Apple. They treat them like family.

Well.... while I also have zero idea what Apple has planned in the arena of AR, using the new TOF cameras- it obviously has nothing to do with the measure app that they added like 3 years ago or whatever.

One camera is plenty to “scan” documents and QR codes. Adding the other two cameras just for the sake of adding them without a valid application/function isn’t what they normally do.

When it comes to ‘fan-art/renders’, I always question the validity. Because until you actually see a physical leak of the chassis of the iPad, then it’s more believable. But this, I doubt will happen with a triple lens camera.

I agree. The current iPP models perform very well so it isn't like they're in dire need of an upgrade.

As someone that doesn't own an iPad Pro and was holding out on this one, I'm utterly disappointed. I'll still wait because it's now likely too close to launch to buy the current model, but I was hoping for a bigger refresh to coincide with the iPhone overhaul (which also may not be happening). What a letdown.

I've never taken a picture with an iPad Pro. Not even to scan a document. iPhone is easier to hold for that purpose.

Also, glass back? Why? Reverse wireless charging?
I sometimes took my iPad Pro on hikes to take pics because my poor poor eyes enjoyed that 12.9" viewfinder but not really since. I could see new, improved cameras for AR but not matching the iPhone set. With you on the glass back. Right now even iPad Pro's enjoy a really low price on Apple Care + with also a ridiculously low deductable. There is no way that could be sustained by making that whole thing of glass and the weight gain ... holy crap the internet would explode in rage.
