Looks good. Is it the type of metal that seems to attract and show scratches easily?

So far it seems fairly resilient. I scratched the inside of the case when I first got it to try and determine composition and it took a little bit of effort with my kit Carson knife at about 60 Rockwell hardness blade. The coating on the aluminum is some sort of enamel which seems fairly durable. A fingernail isn't gonna scratch through it.

One thing I really like about the aluminum case is there is no bowing out on the sides between the screws like the plastic front and rear plates do when screwed in tight.

One other thing just FYI the female screw threads in the rear plate aren't brass inserts like the plastic model rather they are tapped directly into the screw posts.

And is the glass really gorilla glass?

Does the case affect taking pictures with flash?

It is real glass and very durable. Feels like cell phone glass. As far as it being genuine Corning gorilla glass, I have no way of testing that definitively.

There is no glass cover on the rear camera/flash port. That area is exposed. The real taktik case is also open on rear camera/ flash port as well, the only difference is the real one!a silicone impact bezel has two little circular cut outs around the camera and flash as opposed to one larger square cutout.

----------

So the camera is unaffected by the case in any way.

Alright guess ill get the aluminium

And the screws dont strip easily like it did on the plastic ones ?

So far I have assembled and disassembled it 5 times and I have had no stripping or cross threading. The screws seem to screw in firmly every time with a much more sure and positive feel than the plastic ever did.

Is that good or bad?

Neither good nor bad just wanted to let everyone know.

As far as black or silver it's just color preference. I have to say that seeing the silver in real life I'm glad I got silver. But both as long as they are the aluminum versions should b equally durable.

Cool ill message iphonecase2011

Thanks

Edit:

Just bought the case..im in canada too

How long would I be waiting for it to be Delivered?

Took most people a week-two weeks at most to be delivered to the U.S. so pro lay around the two week time frame.

im just north of Toronto and it has consistently taken around 6-7 days (weekends included) both times so if it follows the same pattern as for me you should expect to get it sometime around the 27th I would assume. Of course there may be other factors that change that but lets just say it gets shipped out pretty fast from the hong kong side its canada if any slow down. But keep tracking it to make sure. I use http://www.packagetrackr.com until i see it in transit then i start checking canada post to see when it comes up on that.

I know $70 seems like a lot but like i was saying to my buddy you can spend $60 plus tax on an otterbox easy at best buy and the otterbox is kind of crappy by comparison.

Just wish I could get aluminum for my 4 from a reputable dealer. I doubt the glass is gorilla glass but from my tests, it is resistant to scratching (8/10) impact resistant (9/10). The weakness, as in most glasses, was in torsional strength, however the case will not typically experience that type of force.

I just put in my tracking number and this is what I got

ya i got that for the first bit it just means the tracking number hasnt officially gotten logged into the system . For now I would track directly from Hong Kong post until you see it listed as shipped status and then it should come live on the other third party trackers. once it arrives at canadian customs youll see it become a valid number for canada post.. that was my experience both times at least. keep in mind the time dfference which means they are working over there right now and when you are awake they are all in bed.

Yup. That's why I'm glad the aluminum one works well. Didn't want to have to worry about breakage somewhere down the line.

Not as fast as a store but a whole lot faster than anywhere else. I gotta say this guy was fast. Hong Kong post is on the ball lol. Did your tracking number come up yet? Btw whereabouts in Canada are you?

Some of the folks over on the lunatik page are still waiting for their shipment to go through going on a month now from what I'm reading

Im in montreal..and nope the tracking number doesn't work yet

Edit: never mind, i checked on the link you posted and it said its in transit

Awesome to hear. Ya Montreal is a major Canadian hub so I would imagine you'd probably be within the 7 day shipping period too.
