Another bad business decision, frankly speaking. They should’ve made sure this thing was ready to go along with the very first iPhones supporting wireless charging. They’ve given away so much money to other companies instead. Apple doesn’t strike me as a smart company lately at all.
It’s as bad as their decision to eliminate their router business. What a shame!

While I do love innovative design, I must say that 22 coils for a wireless charger is complete waste of design resources, time, money and raw materials. Even a iOS inside (that will need updated! every month) is just crazy.

More affordable Apple tech for everyone priced at $199.

Well now you can charge your $1,000+ phone with your $400+ watch and your $150+ AirPods all together on a pad that costs at least $150. If you don't have at least two of those items it does nothing that another pad can't. If it means that the new AirPods are launching soon then I welcome it. Apple missed pretty badly not having them ready for the holiday season.

I am already imagining the business analysts on cable all sitting around and laughing when somebody suggests Apple has found new areas of exponential growth because of the almighty Airpower.

A year ago, I probably would’ve forked over whatever they’re going to charge, but now? I’ve already got my nightstand setup, so no. And I’m a die hard Apple fool.

I’m sure they lost a lot of $ by bringing this so late.

And how do you charge the watch if you’re using a loop strap?
[doublepost=1547311913][/doublepost]
199 Or 249 US

Is it possible the watch could charge laying face down?

This is false. With the Airpower, you can set your device _anywhere_ on the mat to charge. With other charging mats, it has to be a specific contact point that you have to set the device on in order for it to charge properly. Where as the Airpower, it doesn’t require direct placement.

Where have you been. You can find all this today on Amazon and Ebay very cheap. No need to give apple $150..

This is the problem with those who don’t actually understand the Airpower, This is _not_ like the other wireless charging mats on the market. The Airpower, you can place the device anywhere for it to charge, where as if you have a third-party charging mat, it requires direct placement.

Tim: “it’s only 399.”

Only 399 dollars?! Man, that's a bargain!

You people thing to small.

Technical hurdles have been overcome.

The first airplane wasn’t a jet.

How about the next product being a wireless charging desk for which you have your wireless charging laptop laying on...

Too late, moved on. Decided I was done with flat charging mats and wanted a proper stand for my phone anyway.
That’s right no more benefits other than it gives notification on your phone when you charge other device like the watch. Something that I can live without having such feature and for the price Apple will be charging for this is going to be ridiculous. Time to move on and Apple is too late for this without any benefits other than just giving them more money.

What is the brand of the charger in the picture?
[doublepost=1547327300][/doublepost]What's wrong with you people? Just let your Butler charge your devices. Just kidding:p My new Speidel isn't going to like the Apple flat charger.

As said 100 times already... wireless charging is a solution in search of a problem.
And so seems the Pegasus employee leaking.
How can we as “the community” do anything to ensure his social security ?

That makes no sense at all. There are entire other contexts that have nothing to do with speed.

Frankly if speed charging is your biggest concern/problem, you have usability and habit issues.

Yeah, charge from low to high battery percentage in about 30-45 minutes. Such a bad habit to have.

Don't see that being much of a big deal. I have a round Anker charger and I sit my phone on the center of it. It is small enough that there isn't really much of an option. I do appreciate the new tech in it but it doesn't change things much unless you have two or more devices that can use it.

I guess I have an iPhone and want to buy some more AirPods so I could benefit from it. I am not sure if I am willing to pay just for that though. $99 or less would make me agonize and lose sleep. $159 or more not so much.

Everyone knows this, nobody cares.

Super easy to charge on my Mophie. Set it down, starts charging.

I'm glad Apple seemingly figured it out, but this device just seems entirely unnecessary for the price.
