Even "Talosive Tech" a self confessed "Apple Sheep" says he does not want this.

He says wireless charging needs to be that the phone/watch is upright so you can see it.
Like a night stand or so that face-ID works.

None of this works with the devices lying flat.

This is dead and pointless.

However, the fact that this "IS" Form Over Function, means I'm sure Apple will continue with it regardless of what anyone else thinks.

If tailosive Tech says something needs to be done a certain way then it must be.

Don't discount it so fast, since we're talking iPhones, normal Qi wireless charging is 50% faster than your normal iPhone charger. Not sure whether this thing would boost it further or not.

I agree, although I'll nudge that down to $149. My HomePod level pricing fear for it is $249. Guessing a good price with a good profit should be $99 since its made where labor costs nothing. JMHO..

AirPower was announced with a TON of hype almost 18 months ago.

I'd be curious what this is in reference to. They were (obviously) mentioned at the iPhone X introduction, but other than that, have been mostly buried in website and user guide mentions.

I agree, however I think the price will be very important. 169$ for the AirPods seemed high, but if the price for a charger is as high as the price for headphones, only hardcore Apple fans will buy it. I can’t wait to see the price, 129$ would be the highest that would be ok for me.

Seeing as the Watch charging accessory from Apple costs a disproportionate amount of cash this will definitely cost north of $129.

If this was announced after development was complete, I'd definitely purchase it upon release. But with all of the rumors regarding issues Apple has faced with it, I'm very hesitant to buy it right away. I don't want my bedside table to catch on fire in the middle of the night lol. I'll give it a while and wait for the early adopters to let us know how it is. What's a few months when I've been waiting for over a year already?

Yeah, I might be interested- eventually. That would be 6-12 months from now. Then I'd evaluate if it would be worthwhile to buy.

I can’t say I agree with this at all, and quite frankly, I think it’s incorrect. Yes, we know the Airpower can support multiple devices, but I have read (And indicated posts in this exact thread) where multiple members are spreading information that is not correct about AirPower, where others are saying it does require direct placement, which is false, as you can put the device anywhere on the Airpower. That’s the main difference, as for your ‘nobody cares’ comment, that’s your opinion, but I think other people are interested in the Airpower.

I don’t know, they come apart near the plastic end piece on all lightning cables. The ones in my house, office and car (for CarPlay) all need replaced once a year. And I only buy them from Apple.

Been waiting for this for forever it seems. I would like it for my desk. I already have a wireless charger for night stand and a dock for the watch. So I won’t be using it that way. For my desk I would like to be able to drop off my phone and headphones for charging. This would be great.

I would also like to see color options for the wireless headphones.
