Too late, moved on. Decided I was done with flat charging mats and wanted a proper stand for my phone anyway.
Far more important is a first party AirPods wireless charging case. The third party options are ALL junk and will damage your AirPods.

And I firmly agree...this design is not at all what I want. The flat charging has always been ridiculous. The Belkin option looks much more attractive as it props up both phone and watch, and has a USB port for connecting another mini charger for the AirPods.

I’m Just waiting to see if it will work with an Apple Watch loop band. (Milanese) I think not.
The original Milanese Loops won't work because the clasp can't slide out. Newer ones (Series 3 and later, if I recall correctly) allow the clasp to slide out so that the Watch can be laid flat to charge wirelessly without taking off the band.

there are people here who need more fake internet points for telling us all the Apple products they own

...on an Apple rumors website and forum board - what a shocker!

Also, the AirPower mat ONLY makes sense if you own multiple Apple products. That is because its main selling point is the ability to concurrently charge multiple devices.

My phone’s got about 30% charge at the moment.

I’m lying on my hotel bed about to meet my colleagues in 30 mins or so.

My phone is plugged in by an old fashioned cable and charging nicely as I browse round the internet and check emails etc.

Can’t do that with any mat.

It it was $50 I wouldn’t buy it.
This seems like it has less to do with the AirPower and more to do with wireless charging in general.

Also air power only makes sense if you have sport bands as other bands will make it tougher to charge your watch

Seems like no one is mentioning the advantage of shared charging:)

Ok, I suppose I’m not the only one getting bugged out when I pick up my phone after an hour of charging and it’s still on 7% because wifey unplugged it to charge her own phone:mad: Would be convenient with a shared charging;).

Or when you have friends over with dying phones. Or you visit others and discretely look around for an available charger. Or politely ask and they have to look around for a charger. Would be convenient with a shared charging;).

Every time I visit my brother in law I charge my phone with no hassle because he’s got one of those IKEA lamps with built in wireless charging (I still ask politely first:)). Super convenient but would feel even better if you could charge several items and not wonder if you’re blocking someone else from charging.

I'm happy that Apple apparently was able to overcome whatever technical hurdles they encountered. I have a wireless charger now that I use at night while I sleep. I think I'll take that one to the office, and replace it with the AirPower for home.

As said 100 times already... wireless charging is a solution in search of a problem.

Hard pass. I'd rather have a PopSocket, and it's either/or.
