Price needs to less and people will buy it. 799 and it will be a success
Absolutely!
iPhone "air" isn't "air" at all, when considering weight and many previous iPhones, or even the current 16e.
iPhone 16e: 167 grams
iPhone Air: 165 grams
iPhone 12: 164 grams
iPhone 8/SE2: 148 grams
iPhone SE3: 144 grams
iPhone 13 Mini: 141 grams
iPhone 7: 138 grams
iPhone SE1: 113 grams
I think most people have no idea what is true to life and would view noise as bad. Many probably came from a P&S and so the iPhone compares favorably to that; plus is always available. All they want is “a pretty picture.”I hope companies (not just Apple) realize majority of people are fine with imperfections like noise and just want a true to life image

The high price tag is the sole reason. They made the same mistake with the iPhone mini. They should fire the entire department responsible for pricing and related matters. Unless you create a credit card thin phone, flexible like a plastic sheet, after that you can sell it $100 cheaper than the pro models.
Apple should just revise their price policy. iPhone lineup prices are just way off…
Yeah. I have to disagree. The thinness makes holding it “miniaturized” the thickness and makes it a dream to hold. Not to mention it’s built like a tank. Yet has a perfect size screen. Not too big like the Pro Max not so small like the 17 or Pro. I really think the battery thing is blown out of proportion. If anything I get the missing ultrawide camera. If you’re a parent and your kids play sports, a telephoto would be nice. If you travel or want the heaviest or more specs, buy what you need. But for the average user, the Air is truly great.I'm not talking about feel, I'm talking about miniaturization.
From what I can see on schematics, nothing really got shrunken so much as moved around and a smaller battery was included.
As a 16e user it’s a great super lightweight iPhone - but yes it needs to be $100 cheaper. The problem is Apple has no idea how to even approach designing a product intended to have a lower price. Gimping the device is fine if you price it accordingly. Price it within spitting distance (with a memory upgrade, for example) of the next model up, which has objectively more features, people will justify going with the higher end model. I said at the time the 16e needed to be at least $100 cheaper. Same applies to this phone.
I do believe this model becomes the 19 or 20 standard model. It makes more sense. Add in a better ultrawide camera at 200mp that can serve as three camera features. Put the new battery tech of silicon carbon in it and you have a great iPhone. Start the price at $799 and it’s by far the biggest seller. 25% more money for less is how influencers are selling it. It’s that the average tech person isn’t going to get it. Just like most tech people actually use Android and Windows. They want more customization and all the bells and whistles.Always a problem with pricing a new piece of technology. Only guess-work is available (including fancy focus groups and marketing group think). Best approach is to launch it and then fix it (price and feature content). Remember the first MacBook Air ? Same with the iPhone Air.
$699 or less.Price needs to less and people will buy it. 799 and it will be a success
Comparing my 16e to my iPhone Air is an interesting experience. As a 16e user it’s a great super lightweight iPhone - but yes it needs to be $100 cheaper.
Some analysts say the Air already contains a silicon-anode battery, but if that's true, there's still room for improvement in materials and chemistry (including better silicon-anodes) if current advancements in battery technology result in a commercially viable better battery within a year or so. We might see something around 20% improvement in the Air's battery capacity, which would be about another 600 mAh.Use new tech battery
I use this one from day one. Like it and think it's great phone after using all gens of Pro Max. Pro became so ugly and feels chip that I can't just bear it. In Air: camera is enough, battery is enough and I just can't stand lack of second speaker. I prefer to have one more speaker and camera build into surface of, what they call it, plateau.
Apple's reported delay of the second-generation iPhone Air will be used to work on a redesign of the device that could include a second rear camera, according to a news brief from The Information.

A redesign that includes a second camera is said to be one way that Apple thinks it can address user complaints that the iPhone Air, while an impressive design feat, has led to too many hardware compromises, especially given the high price tag.
Apple priced it starting at $999, and that appears to have put off customers, leading to reports of poor sales and manufacturing cuts. The iPhone Air is only $100 cheaper than the $1,099 iPhone 17 Pro, which has a triple-lens rear camera and much better battery life. Adding a second camera to the ultra-slim device would also make it look more feature-equivalent to the standard iPhone 18 and therefore more appealing to consumers.
Citing people with knowledge of the matter, the report claims that some Apple engineers want to release the redesigned version with a second camera in spring 2027, which is when Apple is expected to release the regular iPhone 18 and iPhone 18e, as part of a new split launch cycle. The iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, and an all-new foldable iPhone are expected to launch in fall 2026, which was when the iPhone Air 2 was originally expected. The Information reported on the delay earlier this week.
The report seemingly corroborates a leak out of China last week that claimed Apple's second iPhone Air model is in development and could feature two rear cameras instead of one, with a 48MP Fusion Ultra Wide camera joining the existing 48MP Fusion Main camera. Multiple technologies are housed in the plateau of the iPhone Air to maximize space for the battery, so Apple would presumably need to redesign the internals considerably to fit in another camera.
Previous reports have said Apple's work on a second-generation version of the iPhone Air is aimed at reducing the weight, adding vapor chamber cooling, and improving the battery capacity.

Maybe just maybe they should price it correctly
Like £699.. Seeing as it's below the base model (really).
If it was thicker but has a flat back, I would definitely consider oneHere's the thing from my perspective: The point of the Air is to be incredibly thin and amazing looking, but it has a gigantic camera bump like all the other phones. It's sort of like a stunningly beautiful person but with a gigantic nose.
