Apple doesn't have a "typical" release cycle for the iPhone, so at this point why not August.
I'm in the same boat. But if it happens, then I'll just wait until September.
After all, I have to wait until December for the movie version of Into the Woods.
If it's worth having, it's worth waiting a month for it.
I've changed the wording now! Thanks for your input - I should have clarified I meant the past three versions of the iPhone.
they wont release it next year BUT apple can afford to if they need to, they dont care about anything they only care to bring the best product.
The pill shaped flash was because they couldn't make the a single led do what they wanted it do do. But if they've figured that technical problem out, there's no reason they wouldn't go back to a round shape. It doesn't mean they are going back to the old single-color LED.And Apple will ditch the pill-shaped camera flash in favor of the old round one.

Larger screened iPhones have been in the works for at least 2 years. I would think the largest company in the world (by market cap) could increase a screen size by .7" in 2 years. Some posters on here imply that Apple just decided a few months ago that they need to produce a bigger phone. The iPhone 7 is already in the works right now.
Apple needs to get these phones out as soon as possible. There will be tens of million holding off on iPhone purchases this summer in anticipation of the new iPhones. The 3rd and 4th qtr could see iPhone sales of under 70 million if they hold off until late September. If they release in August I see 65 million in the 4th qtr, and 80 million in the 1st qtr if they release the 5.5" in late September.
There is no possible way Apple is only producing 90 million more iPhones this year, unless they're referring to Apple's fiscal 2014.
It seems as though Apple might have stepped into the world of real market testing. We saw them release two phones last year in one ratio and as the market went to the one it wanted, Apple retooled to support that. Personally, I like the smaller and am happy that it's the first to come out. As for the price increase, that seems like a move to encourage their trade-in program.
am i the only that saw the line that said apple is negotiating to RAISE THE PRICE OF IPHONE6 $100??!?! i'm all for a slightly bigger screen. and moreso being able to do two things at once side by side (thatd be an awesome feature) but increase the price? -.- cmon. the phones are already pricey enough as it is.

Its sad when the best Business apps on my iPad and Computer are from Microsoft.
Yes Apple Hardware is Great; unfortunately their software has been a bit buggy of late and the new features are lagging way behind the competition.
