Rather have Face ID (both would be nice, so I could choose) but I'm not touching my phone if I am out in public (which isn't very often lately).
Except a lot of what people liked bout TouchID was that you could do it with feel, which isn't the case with existing under-screen implementations, so people who like that still wouldn't have the choice.Half of the comments here say FaceID is better, half say TouchID is better. Personally I like TouchID better and wouldn’t want to give it up. It’s almost like they should use both so people have a choice!
In an era of face masks and coronas, this is needed. Dearly.
Know what sucks? Face ID while wearing a face mask.
Maybe, but one is much more complicated to recreate than the other one. They are both secure enough.
You are in the minority then.Choosing would be preferred. I've never liked the Face ID thing and I would turn it off in a heartbeat for touch.
That’s not an apt analogy. It’s more like having two very good locks on the same door and only fastening one of them. And giving people the option does make sense because there are times when Face ID is very impractical (phone flat on a table, while driving, while wearing a mask, to name a few) and Touch ID would be superior. And yes, I’m aware there are situations in which Touch ID is impractical - that’s exactly why the option would be good. They are not equally secure. It makes no sense to have two when one is more secure than the other. That's like locking the door and leaving a window open.
When FaceID came out, there was a lot of discussions about FaceID being superior to TouchID. Security and ergonomics wide.

I'm not sure it makes sense for Apple to put all those in display fingerprint scanners inside the iPhones just because someone might prefer a fingerprint scanner. I also know that everyone can't be pleased, so just don't use it if you don't like it. I think it works in reverse just as well.Yes but this doesn’t mean that TouchID is insecure ...
If you don’t like it, don’t use it. It’s as easy as that.
I would actually say that he is in the majority, because he supports the ability to choose between TouchID and FaceID
You seem to be using a different definition of the word everyone than I’ve run across before. I see lots of masks out there. I see very few wearing gloves.Except for the gloves everyone is wearing - which don't see your fingerprint through them.

oh yes, time to retire annoying Face ID.
Definitely. Especially if we're going to have to keep wearing face masks in public... I would love fingerprint ID in addition to face ID.Would love if they ADDED this, but not at the expense of Face ID.
