Long time lurker here! Definitely have problems with the wifi connection on the iPhone 5. Ran speed tests on both iPhone 4 and 5 and, in the room that contained the router and both had d/l speeds of about 7.5mbs. But in the next room, the iPhone 5 was down to 0.5mbs while the iPhone 4 maintained the 7mbs speed. Rang Apple support and, after disabling the security on the router and restoring iOS6, they said it was a hardware issue and to return it. Tried exchanging it with the Three (UK provider) and they don't think they'll have any spare stock until 20th October(!) so have an appointment with an Apple Genius on Saturday. Just hope they have a spare iPhone with a good wifi chip in it!

I spoke too soon. Doing a factory refresh and not using icloud was only a temporary fix. It was good for about 12 hours and bam, it started acting up again. I even bought a dual band router and it was the same issue. Setting the router to WEP protection does work but it eventually repeated itself at least on my old router. I'm swapping it out.

Saturday? Today is Monday.

If I got my phone at Verizon can I swap it out at Apple? I doubt Verizon is going to have stock.

My wifi is working fine. There is so many factors that could be the problem I.e user error or router configuration etc people jump straight to the wrong conclusion. Also been reports of battery draining fast, mine again is fine. If you restore from a backup done on an older model then expect bugs. Configure as new device then sync contacts ect. I think people's common sense these is shocking !

Im finding that since the iOS6 upgrade my 4s seems to be having a number of drop offs in its 3G speed which i neve noticed before. Of course this could well just be down to my network (three), but the timing is consistent with my iOS6 update. Will be interesting to see what comes of this.

These responses of user error are tiresome.

I stopped reconfiguring my entire house to add an ios device and make it work a long time ago.
Set up as new phone, and everything else in the house works as normal.
It's either ios6 or iPhone 5.

Seeing its fine on a 4S on ios6, well...

Wake me when it's over so that I can go buy a corrected wifi iPhone5; perhaps one further enhanced with a solved scuff and nick issue.

Well 9 times out of 10 it is user error ! The 4s doesn't have true dual N band wifi like the 5 so maybe if your router is dual n band maybe needs some settings changed ??? My mate was moaning his wifi wasn't working and kept dropping off on his iPhone 5, quick look at his router settings and bang works fine now. You may have a faulty handset who knows but in my experience it normally the user overlooking something sometimes to obvious to notice.

The speed on mine is the same as on my ipad. But wifi drops all the time all over my house and the ipad does not.

having wifi stability issues with my iPhone 5 as well. I may try tweaking my router to WEP if its not using it now. This better be a software issue on the 5. Its going to suck if its a hardware issue.

I have 2 white 5s both with speedtest download 0.3 Mbps up 0.9. My 4S is 10.97 Mbps down and 0.93 up. Huge difference and both on iOS 6.

It seems to be an issue with speedtest, and NOT with the iPhone.

Incorrect, I am seeing this same issue while doing downloads off a server in my datacenter and not using SpeedTest. I don't think this problem is having to everyone, but it is definitely out there. I'll let you guys know what the Apple Store says....

I think it may be a router setting security issue. Im testing our work 25Mbps connection and I'm getting pretty consistent 20-22Mbps tests. occasionally might get a 5-10, but I believe that is normal. This sounds like a software issue to me. It also seems to be what router settings are used too.

my wifi seems to go off and on when i have it on. It will switch to "not connected" and it can take a while to recognize a network and connect

anyone else having this issue?

What kind of router do you have at the office and how do you have it set up for security and wireless signal ranges?

Swapped out my 5 last night due to the WIFI issue. Still have the same problem on the new one. Swapping it out again later. And each of them are coming from 3 different stores.

I'm pretty convinced it's a combination of iOS 6 and my 2005 Router, which my 4 worked flawlessly on.

It's a Cisco Small business Wireless N Router with built in VPN. I'm not sure what the security type is set on since it was set up by our corporate office tech guy, but I know the wifi password has numbers and letters if that says anything?

IPad - 3rd gen - Same issue

My Ipad has had connectivity issues to my wifi ever since upgrading to ios6. It seems to mess up my router as it takes down the internet for my pc too. When I am not using my ipad the PC works fine
