speed

hi...i'm sure this wasn't mentioned in the thread, but i'm sorry if it did get mentioned, i skimmed over it.

i'm trying to find out if the speed of say like the app store purchased history seems to be loading a lot slower for anyone on ios6 or ip5? or if it is possible that the bigger the purchased history is the longer it takes to load? thanks everyone!

My wifi on my iPhone 5 seems to be working fine. The connection rate seems to be around 121M to 150M according to my router (DD-WRT). My router wireless security settings are WPA2-personal: AES.

I don't have the iPhone 5 but since I updated to iOS 6 my iPad 2 keeps disconnecting from wifi. My iPhone 3GS however is working just fine after the update.

Considering the wifi and battery issues, this has to be good news for apple at this point.

What battery issues? I was trying to run the battery down yesterday, so I kept streaming music, netflix, as well as messaging and using the phone while I was working at a coffeeshop and the phone lasted more than 8 hours on a half charge (53%).

Well 9 times out of 10 it is user error ! The 4s doesn't have true dual N band wifi like the 5 so maybe if your router is dual n band maybe needs some settings changed ??? My mate was moaning his wifi wasn't working and kept dropping off on his iPhone 5, quick look at his router settings and bang works fine now. You may have a faulty handset who knows but in my experience it normally the user overlooking something sometimes to obvious to notice.

Using the 2.4GHZ band on my TC and APX. They are dual band, and tested the 5GHZ with the same results.

Got to my office this am, and ran a test (we have a 35MB package here).

DL is 6.23 mbs, and upload is 12 mbs. iP4S is about 26 mbs down, and 21mbs up.

Hope it's not hardware, I don't feel like playing the exchange game.

Of note- LTE and 4G seem to be switching back and forth quite a bit; but with no relative history on how this works I am not certain this is normal or not.

I have a tough time connecting to my G network and have even a worst time connecting to my N network. And when I connect its slower and the signal is weaker than my iPhone 4. I would think I would connect to the N network easier since I downstairs from the router but even when I am next to door to the router it struggles!! Apple we have a problem...

Mine too! My iPad 3 is having all kinds of unhappiness with wifi connections since I upgraded to iOS 6. I thought it was just me!

Guess I'll stop using it until the fix comes out..

Just returned from the Apple Store at McArthur Mall in Norfolk, Va where they happily swapped out my iPhone for a new one. I'm going to do a clean new iPhone set up. Two of the techs at the Genius bar were aware of the issue, they think it is iOS6 bug, but gave me a new phone to have me check it out.

I'm suffering about 1/3 speed on iPhone 5 compare to iPad 1 (which I thought was slow) on a Person WPA2 network.

Was completely unable to connect to WPA Enterprise network today, often couldn't even pick the network up, even when stood underneath the router. iPhone 4/4Ss were fine.

Week 37. Now, I do have a week 33 sat on my desk waiting to be returned, could test that, but will it affect the phone's returnability?

Just spoke with iPhone AppleCare and they are definitely aware of the problem and Apple engineers are working on it. I asked if it was hardware or software related and she said the WPA2 issue seems to be software based and the non-connecting issue may be hardware based, but that they are still trying to identify the cause.

Yeahhhh, if you could get back to me on this by the end of the day, that'd be greeeeaaaat.

I don't think the problems described are affecting my phone, however, it does seem like the wifi on the phone is slightly "deaf" compared to previous phones and our iPads.

Mapgate.....Scratchgate and now WiFigate......what next?...

Oh, FFS. How many people here were actually *alive* when the actual namesake -gate scandal took place, hmm?? The one that, for the first and only time thus far, forced a sitting president to resign from office? We're, effectively, comparing that level of scandal to "you're holding it wrong." Really?

I've experienced poor/dropping Wi-Fi on my iPhone 4 since upgrading to iOS 6 as well. My "New iPad" does not seem to be experiencing the same issues. Given that all iPhone 5s are running iOS 6, it COULD be a software issue and not a hardware issue.

My Wi-fi Speed was non existent with my network being on WPA2, changed it to 64-bit WEP and it solved the issue.

Thought I had the problem, but it was my...

Wireless Card Access List on my Netgear Router! I had .61 MbPS on WIFI as a download the first time I tried it, and I was freaking out, and then it went to 4.6 the second time. I then went to my Router's Wireless Settings page and realized I had FORGOTTEN to add my new iPhone 5 to that list, because I restrict the devices that can join my network by MAC address. Once I added it, BINGO, I was up to 29MbPS.

How was it joining the network? Maybe thru my Airport Express (other side of the house, G speeds).

Since updating my iPad 2 to iOS 6 I have noticed it keeps disconnecting as well. I'll have to monitor my iPhone 5 to see if it has the same issue. Hopefully they resolve the issue soon!

Don't set your Wi-Fi network or ANY Wi-Fi network to WEP. WEP is so insecure it shouldn't even be an option.

They seem about right.
