Was looking for a space gray originally, got tired of waiting and got 32gb Gold (Sprint)in South Florida!

I checked on the site at 2pm, it definitely updates like mentioned before between 2 and 2:15p. I confirmed with one of the Apple workers that most systems update at that time.

Took in all 10 minutes to do a pickup :)

Super frustrating. Running my fast finger and still missing out on 16GB. choose 32GB, and missed out on each of the 3 store in Portland area. All gave me "Place Order Now" Button. Press it, and Kaboom, nothing.

At least they restock each day with a lot of 16GB and occasionally some 32GB but almost never the allusive 64GB phones
 
Well I got sick of checking in store pickup every day so I ordered the unlocked space gray 16GB 5S through apple. It's supposed to ship November 1-7, but I'm still hoping for sooner
 
I walked into a store yesterday to mess around while the wife was shopping. As I'm standing there, a rep brings out a 5s for a lady next to me.
I found that interesting, because neither the app or the website have shown any inventory at thy store since the beginning of the week.

Not that interesting. It was likely an online purchase which they have two weeks to pickup before it is auto returned
 
Christiana Mall in Delaware apparently has 16GB AT&T iPhones available for pickup in all colors, which is a surprise given its high demand in the tax-free state. Hopefully 32GB is next in stock for the weekend.
 
Why would you call the store?If it is available online from Apple or via the Apple app,order it for pick up.


It seems some ATT stores in SFL got the grey today in 32GB in today's shipment. I am calling tomorrow to see if they get the 16 by chance. Anyone know if return period is the same for ATT stores (heard might be 14)? Or u need to buy in Apple store to get 30 days?

I feel your pain!! Have been experiencing the same issue in purchasing a 64GB Gold AT&T in NJ...online apple store even let me purchase phone last Friday only for store to call me and inform me that glitch in the system misrepresented their availability :mad:
 
Express checkout settings are in the 'More' tab under Account. Flip the express checkout switch from off to on and the ship/pick up/ask me every time options should appear.

Is this only in the iOS Apple Store app? On the Apple store webpage, I do not see a "more" tab that gives me these options.

That is even more frustrating. :) to get the phone on order, just to be called back, and cancelled. Wish u all the best for today battle. :D
 
Or you could take the gold and exchange it for a grey when available.No grey in South Florida for 8 days.

Yet there aren't any space gray iPhones in any size, so frustrating. Maybe I could try reserving a 32GB gold and ask for a 32GB space gray in the Christiana Mall Apple store?

Apple has become very strict with the returning of in store pick up items. If you cite your reason for return being wanting a different color, they may make you ship it to them, regardless of the fact that you picked it up in store.

Call ahead to be sure that is possible...my understanding is that their stock for in store purchase is separate from online purchase for in store pickup...once online purchase is made, store cannot make adjustments to it, only 1-800-MY-APPLE...at least that has been my experience

This was my experience as well. I had to ship my first 5S back even though it was an in store pick-up. But, I have heard of others here that were successful in returning to the store. So, YMMV.
