RESERVE online PICKUP IN Apple STORE currently live and working

Rigged? Paranoid much?

I've followed the stock checkers. Stock appears. You need to setup 1-Click purchase and submit your order quickly. You're probably taking to log to get from screen to screen.
I don't think I'm taking long enough if I'm refreshing literally every second near the time they update, all I have to do is press place order and that's it. It isn't humanely possible that someone could beat me. It says it's out of stock I kid you not, 5 seconds after it's in stock

Same here. Stock disappears before I can even hit place order on my phone. I already have it preset to the store I want and I check online. The second it shows up online, I hit place order. Still haven't gotten it. I could order from my carrier but I don't want a $35 restocking fee for returning for all these problems that are present.

I have it on the last POSSIBLE Screen with express checkout enabled, in the cart and just refreshing the store with zip code, but the second I press "place order", it refreshes back to the page and says it's unavailable. 6 times I've tested for a store that's 300 miles away from me also, that it stays "available" for a long time and all six times, it only goes unavailable when I myself select that store for pickup, it can't be a coincidence.

Slightly off this topic, but I purchased a 5S via apple.com, received it last Wednesday. I want to exchange it for a different capacity. Since I used the upgrade, it won't allow me to purchase another device on apple.com on that line(directs me to AT&T). Can I purchase a 5S for in store pickup on another line that is eligible for an early upgrade, have the apple rep reverse that transaction and do an exchange on the correct line?

I think you can just purchase it at full price and then do the whole return and exchange thing at the store. My store was telling people that wanted a phone to buy any color they can get and just exchange it within 30 days for the one they want. Seems like a waste to me but that was per their suggestion.

It's not coincidence. It's an issue with Apple.com and the store. I have talked to 1800MYAPPLE about it and they have acknowledged that it's an issue. Same with the store. I have tried over 20 times to place a pickup order and the same thing happens over and over. Item not available as soon as I submit. I know I haven't missed it 20 times. Lol.

I might just break down and do shipping. I don't wan to wait that long but they really need to fix their system.

I've had the exact same experience six times now. I've talked to three separate reps about this, two on chat and one through Apple Customer Care line and none have acknowledged it as anything other than the phone being sold out from under me.

Same here. Honestly, from their perspective it may just seem like the stock is running out. However, I even tried to order color and size combinations I didn't even want. They would instantly disappear the second I tried to place my order. No idea why this is happening but extremely frustrating. It seems like only ONE phone for each carrier, color, size combination is in stock for pickup each time.

Not sure what is going on with the in store pick-up option. But, when I bought mine on 10/14, there was a guy at my local Apple store also picking up. We were both buying 64GB gold AT&T models, so I don't think it is just one of each model available a time.

I called 3 stores in my area. They confirmed they have seen a significant drop off in their iPhone shipments over the past week.

So if I order the iPhone selecting the "ships to store" (and it indicated within 24 hours) option, will I be added to the list for iPhones that arrive to the store that day or next?

Or will I remain on a separate list for future shipments?

Just wondering how they prioritize these things...

What? Where is this option? As far as I'm concerned, Apple doesn't ship customer phones to the store

Keep trying, may get lucky.

Was looking for a VZ silver as a gift. Happened to past by Apple store in morning no luck. In evening was passing another store and lo and behold they just processed a shipment of iphones. Left with exactly the phone i wanted, device only. Rep said they turned away a number of customers earlier in the day as they had no stock.

Gave up on Apple in store pickup. Decided to check Best Buy for a 32gb Silver - AT&T today and what do you know - one store had 2. Drove over and picked it up. Couldn't be happier! :D

There seem to be quite a few golds available around Virginia today. I found a 16GB at Fair Oaks, but Potomac Town Center and a few others have/had 64GB ATT.

Was at Potomac Town Center - was finally able to snag a VZ phone. They received a "boatload" of phones in all models (colors and sizes) for the different carriers. ("boatload" is how the nice Apple employee described it) Woohoo

It's a trek (I happened to be in the area) ... but you can go there and then swing over IKEA too.
