As I stated above, IR will progressively get worse over time and it wouldn't make any sense to settle with one, especially if you're a game designer, graphic designer, animator, architecture, or photographer. As an animation major, working on my projects to develop characters and compositions are far more difficult than it already is. Trying to figure out which vector line and choosing the precise color both become a problem in creating my drawings to animate. Also, IR is clearly visible within a few minutes on this current machine, which is nearly 2 weeks old and it's so obtrusive to the point of affecting my workflow.
If you own an LG rMBP, you will realize in due time this is not a "feature", as Apple states, but rather a defect since ONLY one manufacturer demonstrates this anomaly. Even Apple is aware that it is an issue. They are willing to replace the screen for a 'Samsung' panel only. If you're going to accept this as a feature, go right ahead. I however, will incessantly replace my rMBP until I receive a Samsung screen that's flawless and what I paid for.
