I eventually wound up picking up a gold AGS 101 (Gameboy Advance SP). A few things that surprise me:
- It's not uncomfortable, which is unexpected.
- I didn't realize there wasn't a headphones jack.
- Much lighter than I expected.
- I really like Metroid Zero Mission more than the original that it's a remake of.

Been buying used games (GB and GBA) to grab all of the games I'm interested in for later.

2004
:D

If this counts, I just dug out a Nintendo and Nintendo 64 game system out of a box stashed away in a closet. After I finished turning my storage room, trash storage office into a regular office project, I'll sit down and see if it will crank up. Looking forward to playing the Mario Bros and Mario Karts! Fingers crossed. :)

I take it you've heard of Yooka-Laylee, right?

I can remember when I thought Turok had incredible graphics. No so much any more.

One thing I've noticed about late 90's 3D is that it's either incredibly charming...

...or horrible.

There are no in-betweens, it seems.

Before I moved to the US I had a semi-working Apple II, Apple III, the original Mac, the Mac 512K, Amiga 500, Sega master system, C64, VIC-20, Playstation I, Xbox etc.
When I moved my brothers kindly "helped" me by taking care of them... so right now I don't have anything as I wasn't in the retro-market for a while.
After I visited the national videogame museum I decided to start my collection of retro stuff.
wait...playing a PS1 and xbox is now retrogaming?? i'm pretty sure i'm younger than you and I wouldn't consider those retrogaming :p

I remember it like it was yesterday. my dad took me to best buy to get a PS2 at christmas-time but they were sold out and after I was done throwing a tantrum he said "you can get an xbox or we can leave with nothing". So I got an xbox and halo and there went the next 8 years of my life.

Pfft. When I threw a videogame related tantrum, it was because Super Mario Bros. 2 wasn't out yet.

...get off my lawn, junior.

It's coming out for PC as well. Maybe even the PS4/Xbone.

edit: Just checked it out. It's going to show up on Win Maclin, alongside all the consoles.

Though one of the reasons why I threw that out to you isn't just because Yooka-Laylee is kinda like Banjo-Kazooie. It's being made by the same bunch of people.
