Return black to get white iPhone?

Now we know the white iPhone will come out at the end of July, 30 days+ from June 24.

I still feel that this won't stop some people from exchanging colors even if they have to wait a week or two.

Regardless, I will be returning my black ip4 cause of multiple issues. I'll wait till the white one is released. Hopefully everything "Might" be ironed out

I dont see why people view returning the phone a week early and waiting for the white a problem.

If you cant give up the iphone 4 for a week, then you have a problem. You should have your fill by now.

I've been iPhone-less for over a month now. I can wait, but I'd rather know so I can go on vacation and still have GPS, etc.

I think most people in this thread are assuming that people wanting to exchange had knowingly purchased the black model with the intention of exchanging later; wasting the device as a hold-over.

But this is probably false for the vast majority of people. Why? Because the mythical white iPhone was rumored for a year and kept getting pushed back.

My wife's phone got stolen, so she needed a new phone. She preferred the white but b/c I couldn't tell her when it was coming out, she decided the black one was fine. But two days later it's announced that the white one is coming out. If she'd known it was that imminent, she could have waited.

The 30 day window is Apple's policy, as is keeping secret the launch date of the white iPhone. If not for the secrecy, there wouldn't be an issue.

There's nothing unethical about this whatsoever.

If you would take notice of the dates of these posts, they are from July of last year. At that time apple had told everyone that it would be released no later than July 30th. that comment you rebutted would have been very accurate "At THAT TIME!!!" Many people on here made the exact statment that they bought the black and will exchange when the white was available.

Now, 10 months later, for your situation and many others that comment does not hold true. But did it require awakening a 10 month old sleeping thread?
