Ok, so I finally tested it. Bought iPhone 11 Pro and used it for a while (within the return period). Here is what I liked and disliked:

liked:
-speed
-pictures quality
-FaceID worked nice (but still prefer touchID as FaceID doesn't work in a lot of situations)

disliked:
-heavy
-big
-video quality not that good
-price

On daily basis, my usage hasn't improved. Sure the speed was noticable and the bigger screen was nice but now that I'm back on 6 I can say its not a deal breaker. The 11 is too heavy and big to really use one handed which is what annoyed me the most.
I also went to play pool with my partner and noticed that the video came out crappy. Yep, I understand that the lighting is not ideal but this bar was actually lit quite well as it wasn't very dark outside of the table light and yet, the video was a touch blurry and my partners face which was slightly outside of the direct table light (but still lit ok from the ambient light) was full of noise. The video looks fine on the phone but as soon as you take it and play it on your computer you realise how not so good it is. Not saying that iPhone 6 would do better job (not at all) but just saying that the main improvement in the camera is not really there yet.
Overall, I returned this $2000CAD device as its simply too expensive for what it gives ME on daily basis. I'm happy that I'm back on a smaller, lighter device and I will wait for next year to see what the SE2 will be about.
Also, the battery on 11 Pro is not as great as I thought.

In the end, the 11 Pro is a good phone but I don't think its worth the price tag. Good thing was that the notch didn't bother me and I had no eyestrain which were my 2 concerns.

For now, I'll wait it out. 11 Pro waste of money for me. :)

I mean it's still a phone and they haven't radically changed since the original iPhone. They still do the same stuff, they just do some of that stuff better/faster. Sounds like the 11 would be a better option for you should you choose to upgrade. It'll still be big, but not "heavy".

A lot of people are complaining about the heavier weight of the newer phones. Apple could have made a premium phone with the same battery life in a much lighter phone but for whatever reason they chose not to.

Are you saying the 5.8" Pro actually feels heavier than the 6.1" 11?

You should get the iPhone 8. It's almost as fast as the iPhone 11 and only 449$ in the US. Otherwise wait until March, there's a rumor that Apple will bring an updated iPhone 8 that is considered to be the next iPhone SE. iPhone 6 doesn't get iOS 13 anymore.

Yeah, I know. But reading the reviews I think iOS 13 is not there yet so no rush for me to jump on :)
iPhone 8 is ok but at this point would be pointless to get that. If SE2 happens then I assume that might actually be the perfect upgrade for me.
iPhone 11 (or Pro) is just super expensive for what it is. Also, didn't like the visual look of the back. It draws attention and not in a good way. (ie, every thief knows what you are having :) )

iOS 13 is stable enough now to use. But if you can wait then wait. This new iPhone 8 should get the same A13 chip as the iPhone 11 so it will be just as fast, and there is also the rumor that it's going to be 399$, which is amazing for a sort-of new iPhone.

This is a head scratcher. video quality is the best according to most reviewers amongst smartphones today but you found the quality not up to par? It’s actually one of the phones biggest strengths. Then you said it was big and heavy? did You not get a chance to handle the phone before purchase? And then price. you knew the price going in and all these cons you mentioned you couldn’t hold the phone in your hand before paying. I think you just wanted to try it out for fun and all along you had no intention of keeping it. That’s my view Based on what you said. It doesn’t seem to me someone who has held on to an iPhone 6, a 2014 phone, who may have budget constraints would even look at a 1000$ phone with any interest

The phones are all too heavy at this point, I agree
The reason they are heavy is because in the case of the pros they use a stainless steel band for more of a premium feel, glass, and bigger batteries. They have other options in the Line up if featherweight is what you’re seeking

While I agree with some of the points the OP made, I don't think I would go back to the 6 after using the 11 Pro. Although I'm two days into the 11 Pro, and coming from the XS, there really isn't anything that stands out to me.

I'm going to give it until the weekend. But all signs point to me visiting my local Apple Store to returning it and going back to my XS.

It's heavy because the back is glass instead of aluminum--and its bigger

If weight is an important criteria, you're on a sinking boat. Every iPhone since the 6 has gotten heavier each year and there's nothing that'll turn that trend around.
Apple will continue making slightly improved iPhones every year until Kingdom Come. It's up to each person to decide when they need to get a new phone

How someone can still have the patience to use a 1gb RAM iOS device in 2019 is beyond me. I absolutely hated the 6 because of it.

Same here. The 6 wasn't a horrible device when it came out but it was always very s-l-o-w... It was slow compared to a 6s. I don't know how someone can compare the 6 to an 11 in terms of speed. It's like comparing a Ferrari to a scooter.

Wow, a lot of assumptions and passive aggressive comments. :) Let me dissect it a bit.

a) video - I've described the condition and reason why I think its not as good as I hoped. Sure, in good lighting condition the video is great but so is on iPhone 6. If you have good lighting conditions then even iPhone 6 that is 5 years old produced good video. It wasn't about that.
b) weight - sure I did try it at the store. There is a difference between holding it for a moment and actually using it throughout the day continuously on&off. I'm sure you know that
c) price - its about value. I have no budget constraints as you so insultingly put. I'm not gonna boast what or how much I make as that is irrelevant but budget is certainly not an issue. Its the VALUE! Just because you can afford something doesn't mean you should get it. Sure, I can get the new Mac Pro with the display but it will not give me the value for the price tag and therefore it would be me wasting money. And same here, which is why my FIRST sentence was that on daily basis it didn't change it much for me - hence the value is not really there for me.
So, before you comment next time, instead of defending whatever agenda you have, why don't you read the OP and try to understand what they are trying to say rather then you making one assumption after another.

What other options in their lineup are feather weight and up to date?

I said I liked the speed and that it was faster. Please re-read my post.
iPhone 6 is slow, so true (especially compared to 11 Pro)

woooooooww

I'm all for people not upgrading every single device which im one also I have a X.

But going from a 6 to the 11 and going back to the 6 cuz it wasn't an enough change seems like a troll trying to troll people on an iPhone forum site. To each their own but do you know how much change there was from the 6 to the 11? What changes are you actually looking for? Hologram projections? 5 cameras? Dual screens? Are you actually waiting on the SE2 to come out since size and weight is a big deal for you? The industry left the small device long ago and consumers caught up with that. It's like saying you prefer a black and white box TV because the colors are too intrusive and bright lol oh and SE2 might just be a rumor, may not happen so

I re-read your post. Seems more ridiculous to compare "speed" with an iPhone 6 to an 11. It's not even close. The physical points can be justified but then you would buy an 8. Sorry but it seems like a troll post.
