I would recommend getting the original SE for the size and it will run iOS 13.

Since the OP already has the 6 and is happy with that size, OP should get the iPhone 8, massive upgrade coming from a 6, or better wait for the SE2 which is coming next year supposedly, and it has even more stuff.

The current iPhone 8 doesn't have the latest tech, but it's way better than the SE or 6s. You do not need every single little thing that is new of course, but still, the Camera and Camera Features, Performance, Display, Speakers etc... that's a massive jump, but you need to want all that stuff. I wouldn't get a SE anymore, unless you really really want that 4" form factor. It's a smaller 6s, and 6s is quite old now. Who knows if the SE / 6s is going to get iOS 14? iPhone 8 is just a massive improvement in every way and it's only 449$, and it should be improved by March 2020 with a new chip, more RAM etc... for 399$. Don't know if the rumor is 100% true, but that phone could be worth it, and it looks like the OP wants exactly that SE 2 when it's coming, so yeah, i would wait aswell and not get a new iPhone right away.

Surprised that you were disappointed with the battery life, it’s incredible on my 11 Pro. Blew the socks off my old 8, which would need a regular charge following watching YouTube videos.

Yeah, I know. But reading the reviews I think iOS 13 is not there yet so no rush for me to jump on :)
iPhone 8 is ok but at this point would be pointless to get that. If SE2 happens then I assume that might actually be the perfect upgrade for me.
iPhone 11 (or Pro) is just super expensive for what it is. Also, didn't like the visual look of the back. It draws attention and not in a good way. (ie, every thief knows what you are having :) )

If a thief wants to steal a smartphone, he’ll steal a smartphone, regardless of what model it is. ‘Stop, give me your phone!’ ‘It’s an iPhone 5S!’ ‘... never mind’ 😂

I don't need to do that. I know that 6 will be much worse. For some reason, you guys seem to miss the whole point of this conversation. It wasn't about what has better specs etc. 11 Pro wins on pretty much everything (except size/weight). This whole thread is about VALUE!
ie. is the 11 Pro giving me $2000CAD value yes/no? And for me, the answer is no and I explained why. If someone gives me 11 Pro today for free I will gladly accept it (even if I will miss the size/weight of 6). This is not specs debate but rather subjective VALUE conversation.
You guys get value from 11 Pro? Good for you. I don't - good for me.
Simply sharing experience.

11 pro is not much bigger than the 6, heavier sure. You had buyers remorse /endthread.

I totally agree with the user who has opened this thread. I am wondering why Apple does not care its customers' (SSL - Small Screen Lovers) opinions.

It is not that hard to understand this for Apple. We want to use an iPhone not larger than 4.7 inch and not heavier than 150 grams. A small iPhone...

I use my iPhone 6 since November 2016 but it is really getting too slow to use, slower and slower. Please do not advise me to buy an iPhone 8 in 2019.

Sure, i am gonna wait for Apple to introduce a new and small size model, which will be called as iPhone SE 2 and introduced in early 2020, according to the recent rumors.

This whole thread is laughable. Like others have said its clear the OP had no intention of keeping the Pro. They wanted to try it out and is nitpicking to justify returning it. The "video recording isnt that great" gave it away because the Pro has the best video recording on the market..period. If you're satisfied with your 6 then fine, keep whatever works for you but your reasoning just sounds like you're making excuses to keep the 6 when you know the Pro is a better device in every way.

Thank you for not reading the thread and understand why I said what I said. So yeah, keep patting you back for your "laughable" response

It is bigger (usage wise) as if you read correctly my posts you would not make such nonsensical response!
The screen is so huge that you can no longer use it one hand. My hands are tiny and 6 size was just about the max my hand could do. The 11 Pro or 11 is just too big.

Reading the responses here I don't think its just Apple who doesn't care. Clearly, so many users here are stroking their ego and "us" who desire something different are labeled as poor and trash basically. Maybe we should go to iMac section and tell everyone there that they are crazy for buying iMac and that they should all have Mac Pros fully maxed because the output is amazing and how dare of them to think otherwise. :D :D :D

Apple can just simplify the line - 11 Pro and Mac Pro and iPad Pro. Forget the rest, its not needed.
3 products for the ego maniacs :D :D :D

And yeah, I didn't understand either why they keep telling me to get iPhone 8 at almost the end of 2019. Completely missed the point.

I mean I see where OP is coming from

If you’re dropping 2000$ Canadian on a phone that when using it isn’t too different from your current use, why spend that 2000$?

That’s a lot of money. Not everyone can justify it.

I was the same when the iPhone 6 came out and it was ~1200$ Canadian to get the 64gb model

I ended up returning it and just buying a 64gb 5s for 400$ sealed on Kijiji. I wanted the bigger screen. But I couldn’t justify the price for my use which at that point was less media consumption and simply texts phone calls and mail.

So I fully understand the rationale someone can have even in 2019, if their fundamental use doesn’t warrant that price increase.

I want an 11 Pro when my plan is up for renewal but spending an extra 1300$ at the end of my 2 year renewal (which is what it’d cost me with my corporate discount) just doesn’t make sense to me when I don’t use it any differently from my X, and I’m not a huge phone camera person so the main draw isn’t justified

As one poster mentioned; different strokes for different folks

I respect and value your opinion and applaud your honesty. Enjoy what you have and enjoy life! Don't let these people get to you. Do what makes YOU happy.

I can understand if the iPhone 6 (or any iPhone for that matter) is good enough for some people not to upgrade. We all have our preferences as to what is "good enough". I just take umbrage to the fact you used the video quality as an excuse ,taken under poor conditions, is a at best disingenuous. You should understand why people think you're trolling. You even admitted the 6 wouldn't do a better job, so why even mention the video? Just say none of the new features are worth it and move on.

Wow... just wow! I had an iPhone 6 Plus, went to a regular sized 7 and hated the small screen. Upgraded to the 11 and never looked back. The speed is such a huge leap forward when updating apps, general use etc.

I may still prefer Touch ID to Face ID in some situations but the 6 plus already got unlocked and sold to be used on Metro.

I returned the iPhone 11 and went back to my trusty iPhone 6s plus.
I have replaced the battery and I will see what comes out next year.
what I didn't like of the 11 was the Face ID, sure many love it but I don't, half the time didn't work, I just find a nuisance to have to look at the screen to unblock the phone. I didn't like the notch. I didn't like the screen size, is narrower than my 6s plus.
on the other hand the camera on the 11 is better and the phone a bit faster but not enough reason to ditch my 6s plus working perfectly for something that is not a major improvement , at least for me.

To the OP I read your post and I conclude that don’t lie to yourself When making purchases like this. The price is well known and if out of your range you shouldn’t have brought one in the first place

Rule of thumb is to not ever try to justify a high price purchase by features, just stay in your budget. That rule applies to a lot of purchases in life. As far as weight is concerned also something known if you just took the time for research the size and the materials it was made out of. Especially since it was well broadcast that they weighed more than the prior generation iPhone of last year. Lastly video quality and speed has no comparison to the 6. I guess you should wait till next year but remember your 6 is EOL regardless and the SE and 6s will probably be EOL next iOS 14 as well.
Other poster were right when if that form factor is what you liked you should have gotten the 8. The 8 is the last of that form factor so you may want to checkout Android if faceid is not your thang as Apple has pivoted that direction.

I had a 6S for almost a year or so, and I was quite pleased with the size, speed and functionality. I miss it for the home button, Touch ID and headphone jack. I took Apple's upgrade offer, and got a XR.

Face ID works well enough, but Touch ID was a little more convenient. I still haven't gotten used to all the new swipe gestures. And I really miss the headphone jack. Lightning headphones are uncommon and expensive, and the little Lightning-to-3.5mm adapter that Apple sells just doesn't seem to have the same audio quality as the old iPhone's DAC. Bluetooth headphones are inconvenient (they always seem to need charging), are expensive, disconnect fairly often and all the ones I've tried just don't match wired headphones for audio quality (at least at the same price point.)

Despite my dissatisfaction with those issues, I still quite enjoy using my XR and wouldn't take it back for a 6 (or 6S.) My use case may be different from other users; I hardly care about picture quality at all, and mostly use my phone for email, browsing, personal banking and media consumption. I hope my XR remains useful as long as my old 5S; I used it for nearly 5 years before upgrading.

Ok, so I finally tested it. Bought iPhone 11 Pro and used it for a while (within the return period). Here is what I liked and disliked:

liked:
-speed
-pictures quality
-FaceID worked nice (but still prefer touchID as FaceID doesn't work in a lot of situations)

disliked:
-heavy
-big
-video quality not that good
-price

On daily basis, my usage hasn't improved. Sure the speed was noticable and the bigger screen was nice but now that I'm back on 6 I can say its not a deal breaker. The 11 is too heavy and big to really use one handed which is what annoyed me the most.
I also went to play pool with my partner and noticed that the video came out crappy. Yep, I understand that the lighting is not ideal but this bar was actually lit quite well as it wasn't very dark outside of the table light and yet, the video was a touch blurry and my partners face which was slightly outside of the direct table light (but still lit ok from the ambient light) was full of noise. The video looks fine on the phone but as soon as you take it and play it on your computer you realise how not so good it is. Not saying that iPhone 6 would do better job (not at all) but just saying that the main improvement in the camera is not really there yet.
Overall, I returned this $2000CAD device as its simply too expensive for what it gives ME on daily basis. I'm happy that I'm back on a smaller, lighter device and I will wait for next year to see what the SE2 will be about.
Also, the battery on 11 Pro is not as great as I thought.

In the end, the 11 Pro is a good phone but I don't think its worth the price tag. Good thing was that the notch didn't bother me and I had no eyestrain which were my 2 concerns.

For now, I'll wait it out. 11 Pro waste of money for me. :)
A few thoughts on your thoughts, if I may:
-Too heavy. I went from the 6s to the Xʀ, so a fairly similar upgrade. I agree it is heavier, but I really welcome the weight. The battery life is incredible. Previous phones were lighter but their battery life paled in comparison to my Xʀ, especially when you used them with high brightness (outdoors).
You can’t have a phone light and thin as a piece of paper with great battery life under high brightness.
-The camera is better, but I liked the camera on the 6s, and I think it did a decent job (compared to, say, an iPhone 5c or an iPod Touch 5G, both of which were much worse).

Well, I bit the bullet and upgraded to a pro max, from my 6s+
didn’t really need the max, but wanted the bigger screen and battery
its a lot faster than what I am used to
i like Face ID as I don’t have to be holding it in my right hand to open it

ive got a little buyers remorse as 1k is a lot for a phone, but that’s just cause I’m frugal, not that I can’t afford it
one of my daughters is jealous, she loves taking pics
im gonna surprise her and get her one for Xmas
