Looks like mine is going back too. It feels like the first version of the next gen. I use mine a lot for work, and the extra weight and heat have started to wear on me after just a week of use. The 4 will probably be amazing.

I just find it incredible that 1.8 ounces could be used as a major reason to return an item.

Yeah, that's what I thought too. But I carry mine around just about all day for notes, technical papers, emails, etc. Guess I was spoiled by the 2. The weight and thickness of the 3 is indeed noticeable to me. The heat is the other issue. For me at least, the better screen is not a big enough benefit vs. the lighter, thinner, cooler 2. The 2 feels natural and disappears. I can feel the 3 when I use it.

is this a joke? I still can't feel any difference holding the 2 next to the 3. I carry my iPad 3 around all day too and can't tell a difference. I think you are looking for it.

Just return it. You don't need to come up with excuses. It's not like we're your parents or something. Just because I don't like it sounds much more reasonable to me.

Taking the hand out of the bag of potato chips and
bringing it up to the mouth, exhausting.

If an extra 1/10 of a pound makes that much difference just carrying it around, you've got bigger problems.

I got caught up in the hype and pre-ordered one(ATT 64GB) too, worrying that I would not be able to get one (last year it took me four weeks to get one, post launch).

Opened it up with bated breath and played around with it.. The screen was pretty good, but in everything I compared, i was hard pressed to identify which was the ipad2 vs the ipad3.

Then debated hard with the following being the key arguments
* ATT does not have LTE yet in Portland OR
* Not happy with the longer charge times
* No significant upgrade in day-day activites (webbrowsing etc)
* $$$$ :)

So with a heavy heart, I went back and returned it.

Anyone else do that? I realize this is fan-forum :) so please don't flame me. Just curious..

Why upgrade ever gen? Its better to upgrade every two gens (years).

Its like someone going from the iphone 3Gs to the 4s and the difference its amazing. But for someone that went from the 4 to the 4s its nothing.

The major upgrades are always every two years and the minor upgrade is the middle years.

$830 plus tax is so much to pay for any non essential electronic gadget. I paid $489 plus tax and that's an easier pill to swallow. I already have free LTE hotspot (hacked G-Nex) and the 16gig is fine. Bottom line is that the experience is exactly the same minus $340 price difference plus monthly data payments. Does not make sense to pay for 2 data plans when any phone worth it's weight has a hotspot feature. Some people may need the larger memory but the bump in price from 16gig to 64gig is ridiculous.
$500 for the 16gig is worth it "if" you don't have a ipad 2. But $830 is just throwing money away. You can get a 16gig ipad 2 and a 32gig Asus transformer prime for that cost.
