I love German cars, but I know that only masochists and the financially illiterate drive them out of warranty. Which is why so many people lease them, drive the hell out of them for 2-3 years and then get another one. Only suckers end up with them after that, which is why you see SO many late-model BMW/Mercs selling for a fraction of the value and often with loads of deferred maintenance.

With a Lexus, you can actually consider purchasing one and keeping it for 10+ years. No sweat.

Lots of German cars snobs here. Lexus is the most reliable car brand always #1 yr after yr. Doesn't matter if your German cars last over 100k you've already put in thousands of dollars maintaining. Maintenance for German cars are very expensive that's why most people lease or never bother to do regular maintenance.
Done the Acura/Lexus/Infiniti road a few times and I'd rather just lease my German RWD biased iron. Can't stand the feel of Japanese cars/SUVs except Civic Type R and Skylines hehe. Tesla's interior quality is still crap and they're missing too many luxury features in their price range. Life's too short to worry about driving the wheels off an old Lexus.
