I had the InCase feather for iPhone 3G which is similar in material and make up... and that thing scratched the Shi*t out of my phone. It won't happen right away, but over several months be prepared....

Yes. I know of that case, however the iPhone 3G was made of crappy plastic for the back and the iPhone 4 is made out of glass, plus InCase was well aware of their former cases scratching those iPhones.
Ordered. Looks great! Although I'm curious to see what the smoke one looks like, I think i'd be happier with the clear case!

I ordered the Griffin Reveal Etch and just changed it to Incase Snap Clear case.

I love InCase for things like this. I have the black slider and I'm in love with it, and I ordered this clear snap case as my free Apple case. I can't wait for it to arrive...
InCase doesn't really do anything extraordinary with its cases, but the cases it delivers are damn good. Plain, simple, but solid in design and function. Can't wait, thanks for the great review & pics!

Is their added length to the phone around the dock connecter area when this case is on the phone or is the bottom flat?

Yes, very little length however. I'm not sure if that will interfere with a dock or not.
I know the OP is using a screen protector with this case. Has anyone used this case with a front and back. I currently have the PS crystal clear on the front and back. The slider would not accommodate this so I am hoping this one does. Still have a month to go before my wonderful free bumper gets here.

Did you get any sort of confirmation email or anything like that from them showing that your order was changed? I changed my order maybe two or three weeks ago and haven't gotten squat.
no, new confirmation emailed received. after about 4 days from the time i called to switch cases, there was no change to the order details. called them back to check status and rep said he sees the request for a different case and i was told check again in a day or two. now order shows canceled of my original order and the snap case shipping 9/3.

I know you have front/back protection on the phone but what about side films? I currently only have a front/back and was wondering if I needed to install the side pieces. Does the case scratch an unprotected metal band?

How do you know? I can take week or months for scratches to appear. You might be able to make a guess, but you can never tell for sure. I have seen so many scratched iPhones that have been in 'good' cases. It not the case, but the cases inability to keep crap out.
I have an Incase perforated on my 3GS. Everyone raved about it, because everyone rushed to review it after a day or two of having it. But after 2 months the back of my 3GS was in a terrible state and i probably lost $100+ off its resale value.
